This thread started out ahead of just one anti-gun and anti-hunting Long Island transplant succeeding in securing a seat on the Board of Aldermen for one small town in NC.

Like so many anti-2A candidates, the very successful tactic is, get one‘s name on a ballot and, “do not not reply to those 2A people” knowing complacency (and Lack of Knowledge) on the part of many voters will get them into office.

And make no mistake about it, I am confident the next rung on the ladder already being prepared for is a position at the Burke County level …

Having lived here ten years, I am increasingly confident this whole scenario is much wider than just one candidate in one small town or NC hamlet but rather, THERE IS A CONCERTED AND INCREASINGLY WELL ORGANIZED EFFORT UNDERWAY TO UNDERMINE THE 2A ACROSS NOT ONLY BURKE AND CALDWELL counties but, ACROSS WESTERN North Carolina.

If not already, join Grass Roots North Carolina today and GET - STAY - INVOLVED cuz, there are more 2A Supporters moving here from elsewhere to enjoy and treasure our 2A freedoms than there are Leftist transplants trying to infect NC with the thinking and policies that ruined the places they’re moving from …

The problem (make that the CHALLENGE) is, has always been, we 2A supporters tend toward the “live and let live” side of the spectrum; and in todays society, our idea of respect (or, “just leave me alone to enjoy [insert your favorite shooting discipline here]” is simply being exploited as laziness and weakness by anti-gunners (and the generally 2A-ignorant) moving here from places where failed “gun control” policies have reduced quality of life to darn near zero.

This is an advance heads up and effort to GET OUT IN FRONT of a SUBSTANTIATED THREAT to Second Amendment rights in North Carolina;

A rabidly anti-gun resident of Connelly Springs, one “D. Pellick,” - who moved here from New York - is going to be running in the next (and likely all future) election(s) for an open seat as an Alderman to the Town of Connelly Springs.

Since moving here from NY in the late 2000’s she has maintained a seat on the “Planning Committee” for the Town of Connelly Springs and through that capacity in 2017 she stood before the Town Alderman and CALLED FOR REVISION OF THE TOWN ORDNANCE ON FIREARMS SHOOTING.

(The town ordnance mirrors word for word the Burke County ordnance and that motion was dead-ended then and there by the then-seated alders. Mrs. Pellick then spear-headed the 2018 effort to BAN ALL FIREARMS SHOOTING and HUNTING BY FIREARMS within a sparsely developed sub-division within Connelly Springs. That effort was summarily defeated by a sweeping majority of her own neighbors.)

It should be noted here that it has turned out “all the shooting noise” which NY-transplant Pellick was (is still?) calling the Sheriff’s Office about isn’t even occurring on private lots within her subdivision (some of which exceed 10 acres of forested land) but rather, ARE NC RESIDENTS SHOOTING ON THEIR OWN PRIVATE PROPERTY - in both Burke and Caldwell counties - OUTSIDE ANY SUB-DIVISION - safely and in full compliance with the ordnances of the Town of Connelly Springs as well as both Burke and Caldwell counties.

Make no mistake about it: it is this future candidate‘s intention to DRASTICALLY RESTRICT SAFE SHOOTING first within the Town of Connelly Springs and then Burke County and eventually all of North Carolina!

Wished that I know people that do. I hope you prevail. I can think of some noise makers that far exceed shooting and are completely legal. Certain deer abatement noises would make her beg for the good old days of neighbors shooting.

I grew up in Rutherford College/Connelly Springs. Can't believe your being infiltrated with the New York mindset. I liked the idea of a shoot out but every Sunday morning before church would be an excellent idea until she moved back. Just dont suggest she move to Raleigh. We already have too many with that belief system in Wake County. Wish I could vote.

Unfortunately the Debbie Pellick won the election. Congratulations MS Pellick. I lost by 22 votes as a write-in candidate. I guess voters were too busy watching their afternoon soap operas instead of doing their civic duty. They'll be the 1st ones to cry and complain when their 2A rights are destroyed followed by losing their 1A rights.

Second, some levity. Nothing the town of Connelly Spring does in regards to firearms matters and is unenforceable. They don't have a police department to enforce it. And Burke county is not allowed to enforce town ordinances. So just ignore anything she says, does, or tries to act on. I've had this conversation with the former Mayor of Hildebran and one of the secretaries at city hall. They paid a Sheriff to patrol, but all they could do was enforce country ordinances. And that's also why the town has aligned its ordinances with the counties. It's pointless to do anything else.

I will be attending all future town council meetings, just to be a thorne in her side.

@73Chall I get it. But if she shows her colors in public there, I'm not sure she will continue at the town level. And as an outsider, she's not going to be well received at all. As an outsider trying to change things, well I can't say exactly what I think but she can go have personal relations with herself.

And this is not a threat. But I've lived here my entire life. There are great people in this area. And there are people you just do not want to get on the wrong side of. And those people will not like her ideas at all. And my guess is that the Dem's in any area of Burke are too concerned with reelection to piss off their consituency that much. This isn't Asheville or Durham. Even the Dems lean pro gun here. Our long time Sheriff was a Dem and we had some of the fasted CCP turn arounds in the area for a while. And I've never had an issue with mine. I'm pretty confident it's a career ender here still. It's just unfortunate that she has even been given the chance to try.

@csbeeman5106 good for you. It might help get your name recognition up with the folks that don't like her positions as well. Assuming you are running as a Republican I might have a contact in the Hildebran area that could be some help.
