Not sure this is the right subforum to post this in, if you can think of a better one let me know.
I have a friend who's wife is inheriting a fairly large collection of firearms, mostly long guns, some pistols. My friend and his wife do not know what to do with the guns and don't want them in their house.
What does one do in this situation? I'm sure they could sell them on consignment, but they'd probably get hosed on the actual value.
I've sold dozens of firearms over the years on armslist and other sites, and I'd be happy to sell the guns for them, but I'm not sure that's even legal. Obviously a straw purchase is illegal (for good reason). Does the same matter in reverse, ie would that be a straw "sale"... is that even a thing?
Anyone been in this situation before or know where I can find more information on the legality of holding and selling firearms for a nonrelative.
