I’m looking for a 30x80 vault door. I would prefer to keep it under 4K. So far Amsec and Sturdy are the only two that seem like good quality to me. Sturdy might fit that price range. Amsec definitely doesn’t but they are the best I have found. Any other recommendations?

Drake Safes in Roxboro.

I won’t mess with Drake Safes again. The reason I’m looking for a door is because I’m in the process of building my own safe/vault. Drake promised me he was going to build me one for over a year. When it came time for him to do it he backed out. I know most have had good experiences with him. I think the guy is a turd and will never use him. He cost me time and money. All I got was a “sorry”.

Bummer

Sturdy is very good. The prices now are more than double what I paid not that many years ago, but I guess steel and shipping prices have impacted safes a lot.

Several years ago,, I was at SHOT,, and discussing vault doors & safes with Tony at "VaultPro". I had spoken with others,, but his description of his product, the quality & such impressed me quite a bit. I saw Jeff Quinn (GunBlast, may he RIP) later that day & he asked me if I'd seen any GOOD quality vault doors anywhere in the show. I sent him to VaultPro.
Jeff bought one from them and thanked me later.
While they are out of Commiefornia,, they are part of the GOOD folks who happen to live there.

If I were building a vault,, I'd not look anywhere else.

curious about the specs on your vault. what concrete mix, reinforcement you selected?

I reinforced the walls where the safe is being build with expanded metal and covered it with X rated fire board/drywall. The outer walls are more expanded metal and plywood. The walls were filled fire fire block foam. I’m having 1/4” steel welded inside that right up to the walls. The front of the safe will have a block wall covering it. The inside will be two layers of fire board.
I ordered an Amsec door for it.
Should be more secure and better fire protection than most safes.
