It’s amazing how much damage a big coyote can do to a trap.
Bend the spring pins like pretzels, the dogs in circles and bend the pans up too.
Pull the jaws out of some traps.
Reinforcing things is a must.
This is true some traps are tougher than others.Get a few k9 JR traps from no bs lures. They won’t mess them up. #BombProof

Is that a yote or stray dog?
MB 550 offset
With my Bridger #2’s and #3’s, I weld the base plates, bubble tip the jaws, weld the j hooks and weld an 8 penny nail to the dog to reinforce.
The MB’s are tough but I have welded bigger pans to the existing pan. I absolutely love these traps.
View attachment 89221 No telling how many fox and coon I’ve caught over the years but this is my first.
Hold the nail on top and tac it in place then weld it on both ends and the middle. How do you make the dog stay still while you’re welding on him?
Asking for a friend.
I'm infested with em.
Yeah! I got some rifles that'll make easy work of em! Let me know if you need some helpI'm infested with em. About to drop a half dozen Bridger #2s on my new property down by the creek. Maybe I'll catch a few coons too.
You can trap more yotes than you can kill by hunting. The traps are working 24/7 the hunting only works while your out there.Yeah! I got some rifles that'll make easy work of em! Let me know if you need some help
And blowing a big hole thru them has a tendency to screw up the fur.You can trap more yotes than you can kill by hunting. The traps are working 24/7 the hunting only works while your out there.
True but I trap for the live market so no tanning hides for me!And blowing a big hole thru them has a tendency to screw up the fur.
That's a fine trap. Not cheap. With my Bridger #2’s and #3’s, I weld the base plates, bubble tip the jaws, weld the j hooks and weld an 8 penny nail to the dog to reinforce.

No prior trapping experience but I've developed a interest in taking a shot at it and tanning hides. A quick search indicates a trapping license is a $30 add to my sportsman license. I could start with coons in the back yard and I think the game lands are also open to trapping, I've seen yotes there.
Any pointers for a guy that wants to learn or if anyone is near to Hendersonville that would be willing to let me tag alone?
