I saw a used Century built FAL at my LGS yesterday, I don't know what pattern, though. It was priced at 799$. Would you consider one of those?

I had an L1A1 pattern years ago. The barrel was totally shot out. Once that was fixed it actually ran well.

That sounds fair But they can be had for much less. I bought one with 8 mags for $500 and shot it for a couple years and sold it for $1200 with 2 mags then sold the other 5ags four $25 each. So I made so I made $850 on it.

Where can they be had for much less? I'd like to buy a few.

It's only worth it if it has an Imbel receiver. The cast USA made ones are junk. Roll mark should look like this. If it's above the magwell, I don't put much value on them

Didn't the century's have a problem of trying to fit metric and inch pattern FAL's together into a franken gun?

Bought it from local guni shop Imbel receiver ,every thing was in great shape. This was about 5 years ago. You can find what you want if you just be patient. I had a want list and had decided on the max I'd pay. I found a like new S&W mod 13-2 3 inch 357 for $400. A S&W 39-2 for $415. A S&W 1076 nib for $400.. right place , right time with cash in hand. I try and keep $1000 cash at all times to buy deals when I find them. Got all of these for $1250 cash

It was more a problem with out of spec receivers than anything else. You can mix and match inch and metric guns no problem. Imbel receivers pulled from a century gun are worth $500-$600
