Show started out like the last several we've worked. Like a Zoo. Line was really long an hour before opening the doors. Huge crowd all day. Gun sales were good, but people were a little more selective than shows in the past. No panic buying like previous shows. Plenty of ammo when we got there and plenty of ammo when we left today. Ammo sales are definitely down from previous shows. Prices on 9mm and 223/556 are coming down a little. Some dealers were still asking outrageous prices but we sold $10 cheaper per box than the MYB show a few weeks ago. .380 and .38 Special seem to still be the most scarce ammo that a lot of people were asking about along with 300 Blackout at a price buyers were willing to pay. I think most dealers had plenty of sales on new guns, but there was a noticeable absence of collectable guns, both long and handguns. Lots of reloading components such as brass and bullets but hardly any powder and the primer prices were so steep I don't think very many were sold. One dealer was asking $400 per k for Small Pistol primers. Most were asking in the $200 range. We sold some rifle primers for $150 per k. We didn't have any handgun primers large or small. French Fries were outstanding and better than the Myrtle Beach Show along with some really good BBQ sandwiches. Back at it around 10 in the morning and hopefully another big day.

Crowd was a little smaller today but very steady. All in all and pretty good crowd for Charleston. Had one little incident with a customer at another table. Got denied on a background check and became very irate. Not sure what exactly happened, but a chair was thrown and it appeared he took a swing at the owners wife who was doing the paperwork and told the gentleman since he was denied that he would have to leave the show. The owner whos is former military and a pretty good size fellow came over the table and took the guy down. Several dealers jumped in and he was held down until the law got there and removed the gentleman. That was the excitement for the 2 days. After 2 days of walking around and talking to other dealers a little more than I normally do, I came home with these take aways
1. No doubt ammo is becoming more available especially the most popular calibers like 9mm, 223/556 and 762X39. There was still a good bit of .380 and .38 Special but prices were still really high. Even at $35/box, we left with several cases.
2. More reloading components than I've seen in a while, even primers. Powder, brass and bullets are in the ballpark of pre panic prices but people are still asking a lot for primers. Did see some under 150/k for the first time in a while.
3. AR Sales are down for both rifles and pistols. Still good sellers, but no one is grabbing everyone that is put on the shelf.
4. Handguns below $500 are still the hot sellers. We did leave with a few Glocks for the first time in at least a year and had them marked below retail.
5. Collectable market is still a guessing game with Smiths and Colts. Charleston has never been a vintage gun type show, so its hard to leave there with any type of a feeling. The Columbia show in 3-4 weeks will tell more about those type guns than Myrtle Beach and Charleston. Columbia folks seem to like a nice Colt and Smith more than anywhere we go.
Long weekend as normal and now glad we are off the road for a month.

Thanks for these updates. Nice to hear from someone with their finger on the pulse.
Not sure how much most will value my opinion. But I tend to watch the local market and gun shows a lot more than Gunbroker and online outlets. Certain guns sell better in different parts of the country Than others. Hardly anything sells as high in the Carolinas as it does on GB

Wait charlotte had a gun show🤔🙄🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ and someone was selling primers and I missed it 🤬🤬🤬😡
