Charlotte Officers Shot

Does anyone really believe that the folks managing incident response don’t consider the risk of coordinated attacks or even opportunistic attacks or lawlessness? We’ve been talking about it for decades.
Yes, but do they have a good answer, able to execute and are you going to depend on it?

Are you saying, trust the government, they're here to help? 😉

Just hit me … why were US Marshalls serving a Felony Weapons Charge warrant? If the Feds are looking the person might not be just a local thug. It would be interesting to hear the story behind the warrant.
I'll second that.

Just goes to show you that felons will do felonious things and depriving law abiding citizens of their 2A rights does not effect the ability of felons to obtain firearms.
While that's always been true, the tyrants that rule over us will not let this opportunity to oppress us more go to waste.

Because locking up drug dealers with multiple firearm felonies who regularly run from the cops is racist.
Heck it’s not just drug related crimes. Local DA let out a guy with multiple felonies from theft in cars to include a stolen firearm. Guy got 12 months surpervised release and mandatory drug treatment. His 12 months was up and he got caught breaking into homes again

Yeah. I was raised in that hood
I grew up in that area. Had a friend that lived on Denson near where Galway intersects it. I lived across the tracks in Shamrock Hills. Glad I got out over 25yr ago.

His record isn't as bad as some I've seen.

Workplace death. Peace to the families and these officers. But why is this so sensational. Guns and Bullets. ? Ive said this before and dont take me wrong but there are far more deadly jobs in NC and you will never see them on the news or certainly not on a national level. Here are the stats if your interested what occupations kill a worker a week in NC. Work place deaths are preventable. Cops, Lumberjacks, Truck Drivers, Landscapers, there were even 2 librarians that died on the job in the last stats. This will undoubtedly be used to continue to attack gun ownership, eventhough the person here was prohibited from posessing a gun.

^^^THIS^^^

Exhibited too many times a particular demographic and political ideology standing on warm dead bodies preaching and proclaiming using the event to effectuate change as they see it because they know what's best for all... Anyways...

*What we have here is a failure to communicate! And that some men, just can't be reached...

It is a shame, but these scenarios are highly unpredictable... Plan as much as you want!

*Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth!

*All plans work, until boots hit the ground!

What is more problematic is all the speculation and misinformation that immediately circulates when something like this happens. Instead of laying low and waiting for the debriefing to occur. Because we can all speculate a hundred scenarios and possible paths, events, action, reaction, etc., drives me crazy sometimes.

Facts we know are law enforcement officers are killed serving a warrant. We can wait until more reliable information is obtained to figure the rest out... The swirl of misinformation is crazy, always, immediately post event.

As for stretching this out to possible terrorists planning? I can pretty much assure you that there are more juicy targets in locales that restrict it's citizens from protecting or defending themselves! Mostly Liberal Bastions that have removed 2A Rights from it's residents. Not sure NC even touches this realm!

There is a huge reason this country wouldn't be invaded... And it might have something to do with the 700,000,000+ firearms that exist (counted), with some 200,000,000 citizens holding those arms. Would be easier to just Nuke us! Despite the current empty suit occupying the WH protesting that rifles can't stop Jets and Tanks... Lol But with that said, there are plenty of "spots" that present low hanging fruit in regard to "targets"...

Anyways, back to our regular programming!

Feel a deep sorrow for those families affected and suffering loss at this moment. All because some miscreant that based upon this event, probably should not have been on release to begin with.

All LE today are surrounded by enemies the moment they open their front door. It is a hostile environment out there these days. Not sure how they do it... Just their mettle I guess, and God Bless those that have been lost here.

So the short story is that the family members (2) fired on the marshals who were in front of the house in the open rendering aid to the guy they had just been in a shoot out with, from an elevated second story window with rifles. So the marshals had no cover and were in a bad tactical position. Sounds like a bad tactical spot to be in all around.

Too quick to render aid, that sucks. Hopefully it’ll be a long time before a LEO makes that mistake again.

Not at all, but other than us talking about the hypothetical risks there isn’t any way to determine if they have good answers. You know that I don’t fully depend upon them, they’ll do what they’ll do and we’ll each adapt to that as any situation develops.

Belcamp Ln from 84-93. After a while, we were the only 4 white families in that area of the neighborhood.

The official North Carolina one sure does seem mild. However what about Federal ones? What about other states … his first NC charge was when he was almost 25 years old … a late starter or likely moved from another state? What about dropped, plea bargain or dismissed ones? What about ones he was never caught doing? I’m also gonna guess as he committed more stuff his boldness progressed. New “acquaintances” could raise his game.

LEO’s are gambling more and more these days with even low level criminals escalating their game because of the legal system/judicial system failures … from department leadership to District Attorneys to judges to probation boards. The old saying crime doesn’t pay needs to be rethought today. The guy that was the subject of the warrant by initial reports was killed at the start of the incident … it was another shooter who joined in. How much carnage did he cause? Today it’s a tragedy by media and such standards … but next week if there’s a takedown where the TF kills a guy they are trying to serve on his front lawn even though he’s got a gun and no TF member dies then it will be a different story.

God bless the people who have the ability to do this job … deal with scum and not lose it while facing the dangers they do with every interaction.

Pretty safe bet they’ll eventually reside at Terre Haute.

I am curious if any of them had TECC (TCCC, but for LE). If they did, they forgot it.

“Direct Threat Care (DTC). The priorities of DTC remain relatively unchanged from CUF; emphasis remains on mitigating the threat, moving the wounded to cover or an area of relative safety, and managing massive hemorrhage utilizing tourniquets."

It sounds as if the scene was mismanaged to the detriment of the LEOs, but a lot of this is still 'unconfirmed' information.

Oh yes, the “war on drugs”. Let’s criminalize drug use and throw the bastards in prison and fail to provide real resources to help. That’ll really solve the problem. Of course the junkies will turn to crime to get funds for their next fix. They don’t have much of a choice. Hell, even if they’re not ready to get clean, it would be better to give them their fix in a safe place where they’re not going to OD from Fentanyl laced street crap or resort to home invasion to get cash to buy it from the cartel dealer.

Too bad we didn’t just say no to the govt back in the 80s.

Not sure if you’re joking but it’s sensational because it’s not simply a “workplace death”. An arborist falling from a tree or truck driver getting in a deadly accident, those are accidental workplace deaths. Not taking anything away from those deaths either, they’re terrible and have a huge impact on the families and coworkers.

However, there is nothing accidental about two POS’s shooting it out with police. This is a calculated move to try to kill someone. It’s a classic good guys vs bad guys, and ever since we were children, we all knew the good guys were supposed to win. Now that we’re grown, and most of us have families, we better understand the real world implications of the bad guys winning. That makes it more sensational and impactful than the landscaper and librarian.

Personally I have no sorrow if you use drugs and Fentanyl kills you. Yes, it’s harsh but the fear of dying may sway early usage. Maybe not but I can’t for feel for them.

I've been told they rolled up guy was outside the house in front yard and he started shooting and they put him down. Then from inside the house there was two different shooters it's believed both were female, possibly one juvenile. That's what the telephone game is telling me.

I knew at least 3 from the scene one dead, one critical but stable and one unharmed. Sound like it got bad quick.

New ammunition to keep “No Knock” now.

I kind of wondered the same thing and IF a medic was on standby from Medic in Charlotte or a member of the team and then why was the casualty not evacuated or at least brought behind some type of hard cover to render aid. I am not saying that I know what happened but like you said alot of “cardinal rules of TCCC” were broken IF in fact they were rendering aid right there and caused them all to get hit. We still don’t know at what point the LEO’s got hit or what not. It is indeed a sad situation for those involved and the families of the deceased. I hope lessons can be learned from any mistakes that were made so it can be prevented or decreased likelihood of this happening again

Agree. I caveat everything knowing it's still fluid and there's a lot of misinformation. I know I have a lot of questions, especially from my little narrow view, some of which you brought up.

If taxpayers are going to fund clean highs it only makes sense that we fund housing, food and heathcare too.
I’ve know addicts, some survive and some don’t. Sucks to see someone go down that path, but it isn’t government’s job to save everyone that makes bad decisions.

North Carolina law has never afforded the police with no knock search warrants. I'm sure they have written it in more than once but it is 1 not really needed because its a judgment call of the on scene officers and 2 the state constitution does not grant any state official from granting the right.

People have to remember the only difference between the two is a split second knock on the door.

LEO’s have to remember that people will shoot a home invader faster than someone on the porch

As for me I’m not a criminal and never have been so if someone enters my home by breaking in I have no choice to defend myself and wife.
I’m about as Pro LEO as any one on here. My brother is a retired Police Chief and my nephew is a US Marshall. Another nephew was a LEO but has moved into private security.

Probably true for most, but maybe not for criminals. In this case the shooting apparently started with everyone in the front yard.

So if the Police come in my residence through a window while I'm not home, do a search and leave a copy of the warrant on my dining room table, what do you call it?
