Cheap Pistols?

One of my favorite pistols was a Tokarev I had a few years back. I happily auctioned it off for a forum member who passed. But the pistol was extremely fun to shoot. That little round was a firecracker. And as odd as the pistol looks, it fits the hand wonderfully. I have gone back and forth with myself a few times over picking up another. The main thing that stops me is, like many people, I am trying to keep my ammo narrowed down to only a handful so I can stock up well, and that 7.62 wasn't easy to find cheap. When I got the pistol it came with a heap of rounds, but I let them go as well.

Oh man I forgot my Tok. Wish I had never sold that one.

For a cheap pistol, I have a Star BM 9 that I like but can’t get it to feed hollow points.

Probably doesn't meet your defintion, but with M&P's being around $350 before rebates/discounts, it's hard to argue with those now.

Like a lot of these posts, the cheap pistols I have owned need to be referred to in the past tense.
The cheapest pistols I have actually retained are Glocks.

When I first returned to the shooting sports, after a long break, I purchased a Taurus M- 617Ti. Knew very little about Taurus reputation for low quality. I’ve put a thousand or so rounds of assorted +P 38 special and .357 Magnum ammo through it without any problems. It makes a excellent keep in the trunk of the car gun.

I've had these:

1. Bersa Thunder 380 - first pistol I ever bought
2. Taurus Slim PT-709
3. Taurus PT-738

I've sold them, but there was nothing inherently wrong with them. Put ~700 rounds through the Bersa. It was just large for a 380. The Slim performed great, but the grip felt a little narrow for the slide that was on top - so a minor ergo blip. The Shield feels better to me. The PT-738 also worked fine for me, but I got out of 380 for a few years. I replaced it with a Ruger LCP Custom, to have a small 380. They were all great to shoot, and very reliable.
