So I like to have a snort every night before bed. I was on the scorch train for years but I’ve been developing my taste for bourbon lately. But damn, a double every night is expensive.

Came across Larceny last week. Under $50 for a 1.75 liter bottle. It’s not the best but it sure ain’t bad.

Larceny is good. I drank Jim Beam for years. Evan Williams is also pretty good. Knob Creek was my favorite. I switched to Rye. Wild Turkey Rye is a $20 to $25 rye that is just barely rye at 51%. Elijah Craig and Clyde Mays are my 2 faves. I've tried them all including the $90 a bottle Whistle Pig.

Forgot about the Kickin' Chicken. Like that one too.

I like Evan Williams White Label as my “bulk” buy. 1.75L is under $30. I like other cheap ones like Very Old Barton and JTS Brown, but they are hard to find. You can get the EW White anywhere, all the time.

Makers 46, Blade and Bow are both in that price range.

He said the 1.75L. Makers and Blade & Bow are a little less for the normal sized bottle.

Larceny is decent and so is Elijiah Craig in the under $30 range. When I was in a Rye phase Dickel wasn’t bad for cheap.

In the last year I have experimented with several of the top shelf spirits. I have since gone back to the old stand bys of the past, Jack Daniels and Wild Turkey. I did like the Buffalo Trace, though.

I understand that. I like trying new things, but I could only drink Dickel and be perfectly happy.

turkey 101 is good got tired of jack daniels when I was in the service, RR which one is 132 proof cause I like to get Everclear 190 cause it is more like good sipping whiskey just need to add a flavor to it which is easy

Bulleit Barrel Strength.

@Chdamn if you like Larceny, it's a wheated bourbon. Another toward that end of the taste spectrum is Bernheim. 29.95/fifth and it's pretty good.

Like @RR I have taken a liking to the Old Tub. Old Tub has now tied my favorite, Wild Turkey 101.

Edited to add: This post is making me thirsty. I'm going to remedy that situation with some Old Tub right now.

This thread reminded me of a bottle that I got as a Christmas gift. So, I cracked it open tonight. Pretty good stuff. I still prefer a turkey leg, what we always called Wild Turkey.
