This one claims 1500sq ft.
My house is 1000 sq ft.
My old all electric freon HVAC unit is long in the tooth.
It uses heat strips only, costs too much for a big toaster.

Are these china units too junky for a primary residence? Spare parts non available etc.
Is this the Lorcin of the HVAC world?

Ain't no way I'd put a no name unit like that in my house.

The rule is 12k btu for 600 Sq ft. Not a set in stone rule but the standard to srltart with.

Imho after being in and out of this business for a long time, a mini split is more for a room or two. Not a whole house. The Temps will be comfortable in a room or 2 but the farther away from the unit the worse I'll be since the supply and return are with inches od each other and not a supply in each room.

Just my opinion.

I'm still considering a unit from ebay at a third that price for the garage.

We have a multizone Mitsubishi at our place in Boone and it has been great for 10 years. I know a couple people that have installed the Mr Cool units and are happy with them. Maybe one of their multiroom systerms would work.

That Mr Cool model has a great warranty.
Lifetime compressor, 5 yr parts.
Tons of U tube videos of folks installing them.
Looks fairly straightforward.
Needs a 230v circuit.
$2100 ish for single zone.

Do you have a Costco Membership? If so, check the single zone Mr Cool there. They have the best price I have seen and also put them on sale occasionally. I'm picking up an 18k single zone next time they go on sale. This is currently what they have for sale. Also just noticed they have a 2 zone unit for sale now. Picture attached.

Look at the Pioneer units. I have two in my garage and finished room above. A 12 and 18k BTU unit. Install was easy and quality seems fairly good. Reviews were better than the Mr Cools.
