Just got a new to me Toy. Contender Easy Open frame with 12 inch Custom Shop SS Barrel chambered in 300 Whisper. Previous owner had rim cut so 357 Max Brass can be used. It is fitted with a Vais Brake and wears BullBerry custom furniture. It is topped with a Warne base, 30mm Burris Signature rings and a 6.5 - 20 x50mm Burris MTac scope. Came with 150+ Brass and Redding loading dies. Can't wait to get some ammo loaded and get to the bench.

I’ve never really been enamored with the Contenders but that one is a beauty! Very nice 👍🏼

If you like the Maxi,,, you should do a little investigating. One of the folks who helped Ruger design/build the Maxi,, was a guy named David Bradshaw. Well, Daivid along with another guy, Lee Martin,, designed a cast bullet just for the Maxi a few years back. Mountain Molds made the molds,, before he closed up shop. I think another company may be building them now. Anyway,, it casts a 194-195 grn bullet, uses a G/C, and David & Lee tested a bunch of loads all before letting folks know about it. It's an EXCELLENT bullet that performs quite well. If you need a few more details,, PM me & I'll fill you in. (Of course,, it'll be whenever I'm not deer hunting, which I'm doing a lot right now.)

Thanks Ole Pard...we're using a 200 grain gas check by Cast Performance. Out of the 22 inch Handy Rifle it'll do 2,000 fps. The opposite end of that is a 110 at over 3,000 fps. I appreciate your help, I'll certainly check them out.
