This morning, we found this at the top of our driveway. With my luck, the driver managed to knock the deer just onto my side of the property line. Awfully nice of the driver to leave me this early holiday gift. I hope it costs him/her a bundle to repair the vehicle.

This is out in Davidson County on what I believe is actually a State Road (Sheriff patrols the area but NCSHP rolls on accidents). What do I do now?

I see it as you have 3 options
1. You have dinner tonight
2. your wife don't like deer meat and won't let you eat it so just drag it into some woods across the street or behind your house
3. Call animal control

Ummmm. Dinner. Or call your local friendly redneck for disposal lol

Realistically DOT and local animal control wont do anything at all if so youll be waiting for days. Drag into woods and dump a bag of lime on it to keep the smell down.

Call the county DOT office they have a guy or two that goes around and picks them up to haul to the dump. May take a day or so.

Not that it matters but that deer is not actually on you property. State right of way extends to 32 ft. from the center line of the roadway. You property begins there.

I had a coworker on a job site with me once who got a citation for trespassing because he had parked in an unused driveway at a property across the roadway from the job site. The lady who owned the property called the sheriff's office and a deputy came out and told us she didn't want anyone parking there. We were leaving anyway so we thought that was the end of it.

He told me later that he had to go back and get a citation for trespassing. I told him they couldn't trespass him from state right of way. He called the sheriff's office and told them what I said and the sheriff sent the deputy back out to measure where he was sitting. They found out I was right and took the citation back.

The long of it is while it is not on your property you still gotta deal with the smell.

Do it before the buzzards show up.

No problem.............

Jordan Lake taxidermy. Have the hide treated and caped out and make a nice area rug.

What would Curly do?

I wouldnā€™t drag that into my woods and leave it. Coyotes will never leave the property.

Drag it to the neighbor's property.

Anyone suggested Chinese restaurant?
