Looking to buy my first suppressor; anybody know a good transfer place (i.e. not too expensive) in WNC?

Carolina Guns and Gear or On Target are two others.

CGG has a kiosk and OT has in house way to capture prints that’s stored in house. Assuming you don’t have an EFT file on hand.

Thanks! If I had my prints taken for CCW, could I request those from my sheriffs office?

Probably not.

You can roll your own. Fingerprint cards are free from the ATF, and the pad is <$10.

Getting an EFT file is also an option, but I can’t imagine the Sheriff doing that for you.

I would avoid on target and Carolina guns and gear. BlueRidge Firearms has a kiosk and I’ve heard they are great to deal with. On Target is super unorganized and chaotic. Good people though. Carolina Guns and Gear has some very uneducated employees.

Just my experience having dealt with both shops.

Haven’t been there yet. New destination.

I keep watching Capital Armory online with their monthly deals. One day I will eventually bite and see what happens. A buddy used them and had good things to say.

I haven’t used their ship-to-your-door process, but I do know how it works…and how they set it up in NC.

I’ve bought from them in the past, and had great service. I’ve also stopped by their shop, and even went to the range with one of them several years ago. They even took their meter to the range and I tested some of my Form 1 cans.

No complaints at all, and I wouldn’t hesitate to deal with them.

Blue Ridge in Weaverville / Jupiter. They also have a Silencer Shop kiosk.

Big Ivy in Mars Hill is currently closed as Blue Ridge bought them about a month ago and they're rebranding.

Capital Armory in Texas now ships to NC. Had a buddy use them, typical wait time but it showed up at their house.

Most places charge about $20 if you transfer it in and most won't charge a transfer fee if you buy one from them.

You can make an appt. and they'll do them for you. This is only necessary if you don't want to roll your own or use a place with a kiosk. Any decent dealer will help you do prints in house even if it's with ink & cards.
