Does anyone make a climbing stand that you face the tree while you are sitting in it? My father inlaw is wanting one. Thanks

Cadillac

Used one for years till my cousin stole it. F-ing meth head...

I was hunting out of my Buckshot stand facing the tree this evening.

What’s the advantage/disadvantage to a stand that faces the tree?

If things get shakie, I can grab the tree, lol

But it does give a rifle brace. It can hide movement. Block sight of deer ( but you too to small extent)

But for me, when I nod off, I fall forward...

If you can find a Tree Walker stand, they do. They’re no longer made but man, they were well made.

I use a Summit climber, it’s the only one I’ve used. I lean back into the tree and lightly doze at times.

Exact same stand and scenario but my wife’s cousin that as a kid, lived with us for a year
Sold it to buy meth. Funny how meth heads justify things.. “ I didn’t think you wanted since it was left in woods”

I've hunted from a Tree Lounge for the last 20 years. Tree is behind you so you have a full view. Can use your knees or side rails for a brace. You sit IN it rather than ON it. They are very comfortable. I have taken many naps in mine. You would have to work hard to fall out. Not made anymore but you can find them on craigslist or sometimes gun websites

Dad has about 8 or ten of them spread across the Carolinas, and wouldn't trade them for anything. He spends more time in tree stands than his bed.

Was going to suggest the same. Treewalker with a Hazemore seat has been my go-to for 6 years now. Away from the tree or facing it. With the rail or without. Getting into saddle hunting this season to let me slip into some deep woods areas with less bulk and more quietly, but the Treewalker is still an awesome climber to slip in to doe beds just off the fields.

Should have chained him to a tree.

Thanks for all the help guys! Ended up with one from XOP.
XOP is run by Cody Daquisto, son of the original owner of Lone Wolf, Andrei. And Andrei was brought in as a consultant for some of the current designs. XOP makes some really well thought-out gear and brought a few designs back from the dead from companies that didn’t survive, such as the Bow Bat that was originally made by GamePlanGear (love their bow cases).

Oddly enough, Andrei retained rights to the Lone Wolf name and started up a second company, Lone Wolf Custom Gear. Some of the nicest, most Gucci-hunter stands and sticks I’ve ever seen.

Anyways, that’s enough of me boring you all. Hope you enjoy the new stand!!!
