My first CMMG rotary bolt .45 pistol upper build used a DPMS Slabside upper as I had used them in several previous .45 builds and liked the slickside look and thicker walls, never cared for the bump, forward assist or door. I did have to enlarge the ejection port to work with the cmmg bcg while there was no problems with the Olympic Arms ejection. But they don’t make them any longer. I was forced to use a Stoner upper from midway on the cmmg long bbl .45 upper build. Worked great as it’s got a huge ejection port. I’ve ordered another stoner upper to replace the dpms upper. Should be here this week. Will be an easy swap. The reason I’m doing that is to rob the slabside upper for another build, my very long term Lewis gun/ ar project [semi]. I recently found a few more Lewis pieces to tinker with. Milled this piece of teflon, the rounds are one notch off. Trying to get the pan to rotate, index correctly and drop a round. We’ll see.
