C'mon you apes, do you wanna READ forever?!

YES! This is what I want to hear, it makes it all worth while. Thank you!

Paypal me at [email protected] with an address and I'll send you a signed copy ASAP. :)

That goes for anyone else as well.
cost for signed version shipped?

cost for signed version shipped?

$14 per book, and S&H is $7 whether it's for 1 book or 3 apparently.

I tried to find the cheapest way to ship, and that's through USPS, and I think it's a scam for that price. I'd love to know what Amazon actually pays for S&H. Their rates must be insanely low.

EDIT - It's $14 per book and $3 for S&H.

just kidding. I must be shipping too much stuff if my estimate was that close.

Media Mail should be a lot cheaper than that. I think you have to go into the PO to get that rate (something around $3 for a 1 pound book). The magic words are: "I want to ship this Media Mail."

@RFMan

Wow, you're right on the media mail and money. I looked it up online and it's $2.80.

@HMP

Sorry for the bad info. It's $14 per book and $3 for S&H.

It does take a little longer...maybe a few days; it's lower priority (since it's less money!), but when the purchaser can wait, it's absolutely the way to go if mailing.

How come no one ever told me about this movie?

It looks absolutely terrible and delightful at the same time.

First and foremost congratulations! That is pretty awesome and a very cool accomplishment.

You happen to have another one available? My son (about to turn 10) loves this type of genre and I think it would be cool for him to get a signed copy and then we can read it together.

Absolutely, I've another batch arriving tomorrow. My Paypal is [email protected]. I'll ship it out Friday.

Hi Erik,
I am sad to say that I just finished my copy, lol. I say that because well.... dangit...now what do I read?
It was a very enjoyable and entertaining read!
That said, I now am ready for your next edition Sir. Please put me down for an advance copy!
I will gladly pre-pay for said copy, just let me know.
Thanks,
“Bull”

Bull, I sent you a PM. Thanks for the kind review. (Well, I assume it's kind, Amazon kind of stinks at uploading reviews in a timely fashion. lol)

But you guys supporting me with reviews and purchases REALLY helps the chances of the sequel seeing the light of day. I can't thank you all enough!

Okay, all signed copies are shipped out. I need to send out tracking numbers, but they are in the truck and it's a monsoon outside sooo... I'll get those PM'd out tomorrow.

And for anyone on the fence, here's my website where you can check out a pretty good sample of the book. (About the first 20% I think).

I don't read a lot, and I read slower than the normal person most likely, I found this to be an excellent read. I enjoyed it. Now I'm waiting for the next one.

Are signed copies still available? If so what is the shipping costs for 2 to the same address?

Oh yes, I've got to order some more so it will be a couple days before I can ship. But S&H is about $4 for two books through media mail.

I reviewed my own book on Amazon. Because that's what heroes do. (And self-obsessed authors.)

Got my copies earlier this week, probably should have asked before ordering 2. Is there anything in it that you would be against your 14yo kid reading?
The extra copy I got will be a Christmas present for my oldest if not lol.

Nope. I wrote it with the intention that young adults could read it as well. There is some mild swearing, but no F-Bombs, or sex, nudity, etc. Just some good ole fashion violence.

My son is 13 and just finished it, and my nephew is 14 and read it, they both thought it was spectacular so I suspect your son should enjoy it as well!

I finished this about a week ago. It was a great read. I will be awaiting the second.

Thanks guys!

The sequel is ready to go. If it were up to me, I'd have that sucker in print by the end of the month! But, alas babylon, I must wait for the publisher to pick it up.

Some good news though - I just got my first International Review on Amazon yesterday.

I'm officially 'World-wide'. :)

By the rivers of Babylon, There we sat down and wept, When we remembered Zion.

So an update.

Right now, with 24 reviews, the book is sitting at 4.6/5 stars on Amazon. (And a 5/5 on Goodreads... but there's only like 5 reviews there.. and 1 of them is my own.... sooo :) )

Anyways, that's pretty freaking awesome!

So, from the top, middle, and bottom of my heart, thank you all.

Regardless of if you read it, bought it, bought numerous copies(you guys are insane!), read the draft, supported me, or just didn't tell me to get lost posting this thread. Thank you.

Seriously, I could never have had a first book do so well without the help of Carolina Firearms Forum.

You guys rock, thank you so much for helping to launch my writing career.

As for any other news, still nothing on the publisher and the sequel. I'm assuming it will be next year before I hear anything, that should give them time to analyze this quarters sales since release and see if it's worthwhile to take the next book in the series. But considering how well the book is doing in reviews and from what I can tell, in sales, I'm pretty confident it's going to get a green light.

One of the more difficult things I've had to do is write the 'back book blurb'. Which is supposed to be less than 250 words, and intriguing without being too revealing.

I find it crazy hard to simplify a 100,000+ word book into something so small that people will want to pay monies for.

But it's part of the future career I want.

So, without further ado, here is the 'back book blurb' for the Sequel. Currently unapproved by anyone but me.

***

After retiring from outlawing, Jedidiah Huckleberry Smith just wanted to be left alone in Wyoming with his guns and regrets.

But then he discovered an entrance to a lost world, a place full of grand adventure, as well as spectacular dangers from both prehistoric dinosaurs and a race of savage ape’s intent on conquest.

Now, a new fort has been established on the other side, and a strange civilization of humans and dinosaurs have been located. The people are descendants from another time in history, long trapped in prehistory, and with them a fragile alliance is created.

But will it be enough as Jed faces vengeance from enemies both new and old?

Will his savagery and cunning keep him and his love alive?

Or will they die, on a mountain of fired brass, amidst the guttural bellows of barbaric apes and roars of monstrous dinosaurs?

Jed doesn’t know, but he’s always willing to shoot first and figure out the rest afterwards.

So, whatcha think? Does that sound like something you'd want to read?

Allow me to rewind this thread a tic.

Do you have any signed copies of the first book available? Not sure how I missed out the first go round, but I'll be needing one, if you would be so kind.

It will be a gift for my bestest bud Mike, if you decide to be bold enough to personalize it.

I want to know this info as well.

LOL. I had to google Sleestacks. No, no Sleestacks. But there is some vicious apes that rip peoples hearts out and eat them. :)

I may have to require 1 cent per book sold. In 2001, my dwarf-fighter used to eat the hearts of the orcs that he killed like an apple (and never bathed). (Had to justify his Charisma of 4.) 😉

Sounds good to me. Just finished West of Prehistoric yesterday, I'm in for the sequel.

I found two typos in the blurb, highlighted in red above. The apostrophe in "apes" has definitely got to go! If you meant to use the Spanish "prehistoria" that's cool just leave it, but English is "prehistory".

I would also like a signed copy of the West of Prehistoric paperback if you have any left.

@kcult and @TheWallrus - I think I'm all out but I ordered another stack that is due next Friday. I can certainly sign them and write something in there if you give me some info. They are $17 each and ship Media Mail. You can paypal me at [email protected].

See above about the copies. :)

Good catches and I had no idea "Prehistoria" was Spanish. That's what the other side, the lost world, has begun to be called in this book. I'll have to see if I can put that little language fact into the books somewhere. But really, "prehistory" could be used as well in the sentence and avoid any confusion. So that's a good tweak to be made!

If I could ask another favor of you, please leave me a review at Amazon/Goodreads/where ever. It helps me sell more books and pushes the publisher to grant me my sequel. :)

Please advise when the sequel is available for purchase.
I’ll be needing to buy a signed copy.

Ok I left a review on AMZ, it should post in a few days.

I sent $17 to the [email protected] address. It tells me you need an account to claim the money, I'm not sure if that's just a generic response or what. See the screen shot attached.
