Colt 1911 Classic

This is my first Colt, and we ran some rounds through it at @BatteryOaksBilly this past weekend. This is the new Classic 70's series Government Model. Shot it right out of the box. Ran great with Colt mags, Check Mate 8 rounders, and Mecgar mags. No malfunctions of any kind, and even ran some Tulaamo through it. Sweet shooter for sure.

They are excellent stock shooters with their NM barrels. I just wish they would dump the laser engraved "rollmarks" and go back to proper rollmarks. As a stock gun for shooting stock it doesn't matter much but as a platform for a custom build the laser engraving does not hold up well.

Very nice. My series 70 pistols are at the top of my favorites list. I shot one yesterday for a while and had a grand time. I am curious whether they put in a solid bushing or used a bushing with the fingers. Enjoy.

While handling this gun I was impressed. When I shot it I was more impressed. As it sits right now I couldn't think of one single thing I would change. Good sights that shoot where they look, a decent trigger and 100% reliable. Over 100 in and out on Sunday with several different shooters.

Oh, I'm not changing a thing on it. Works good as is, and looks great with those new grips.

You can't go wrong with the classics. Old fat and slow can be a good thing. Enjoy !

They look pretty good this way.

It wears these Spegels now.

I'd only change grips, myself, although those look fantastic.
