Colt collectors show in Concord

Tell me more! Is this all weekend? What does it cost? How many vendors and tables are there?
Pretty sure you have to be a CCA member.

It’s an all Colt show with both vendors and exhibitors. I’m guessing there may be around 100 tables but may be off. All quality stuff. Ends Sunday at noon. I think admission is about $10 if not a member.

So you don’t have to be a member? For some reason I thought somebody here said that was the case.

Good to know if that’s not a requirement.

Will do Steve, intend on taking lots of pictures. I brought about 20 various Colts that I want to part with and replace with some new stuff. My buddy is with me has a Jack Dean Texas Ranger gun. He was a retired Captain that just recently passed. 1st Gen nickel silver engraved Colt also a Turnball restored second Gen Colt SAA from 50s. I have a couple of engraved guns, Lightening rifles, 1911s, and D frame DS and Cobras.

What price does he have on the 2nd Gen Turnbull gun?

Unless it has changed from the last 4 times it has been in Concord, you Must be a member...you can take a guest but they have to pay $10.

This is how it has been for the last 4 shows over 20 years. This is the 5th time it has been in Concord...our group has been to all of them. We will arrive today around Noon....

Your explanation is what I was remembering. Thanks for confirming.

Nice seeing, talking with and having a great time with everyone today.
I'm going back tomorrow so I can take my time just looking.
I saw things that I had only seen in magazines or online.

My first CCA show. I rejoined CCA this year as I dropped my sass membership, still shoot cas monthly but haven’t been to a sass state or regional shoot in 20 years. If the BoD‘s couldn’t figure out a way to save Founders Ranch and all the money and hard work that cas shooters had done there I am through supporting them. Soap box off. Anyway I had a real ball at the show. I enjoyed the Colt LEO display too. I have a couple nonmilitary DAs with lanyard rings but nothing stamped as being police. So many beautiful Colts all in one place, WOW. I was only there on Friday as I had to be back in Greenville for the Appleseed shoot Saturday morning. Ran into an old friend who had a table full of goodies that I thought was passed, made the show even better. Was great seeing Don. I’ve bought a bunch of shooters from him in the past. There were not too many if any shooter grade Colts at that show though. But would have liked a couple of those 4.5 inch New Services that I saw. I think that I actually found the cheapest Colt there, a very clean 3rd series Target Woodsman parts gun for 200.00. Put it together with parts from my parts box last night but it still needs a mainspring housing. Have 2nd series but no 3rd. A very close match on my slide. Had a set of brown plastic Colt grips. Still need a couple of mags. Almost forgot, I found a nice Eubanks Woodsman full flap holster too. A fun weekend.
Update-just ordered a stripped 3rd series mainspring hsg off fleabay. Have the internals.

The wife and I went to the first one in Concord. There was a fellow in line dressed in old bib overalls with a heavy burlap sack thrown over his shoulder. He was right in front of us. When we got up to the gun check he dumped out a bunch of 1st gen Colt SAA’s on the table. The cops looked at me and the wife, shaking their heads. You never know what you’ll see but I guarantee you’ll see some big money changing hands if you look close enough. Good show.

I saw lots of 5 $$figure pistols, amazing engraving work, real ivory, and plenty of antiques i never knew existed. Definitely worth $10 and a couple hours of my day to go see. Prices on everything were through the roof though - didn't buy a thing.

Nutmeg was there with some beautiful grips
I have done alot of business with Nutmeg over the years. Jim Alaimo used to call here on Sunday mornings just to chat. His daughter Emily will go home with a 1952 Colt Commercial Model to work up as a fully engraved Ivory stocked 1911 to be carried proudly. I miss her Dad.
