My recently purchased 6” Python was returned to Colt first of April. I had decided to change out the front sight, and the 0.050” Allen-head plug screw froze midway out of its channel. Penetrating oil’s didn’t free it, so I drilled out the the plug screw. In doing so, I found the original tap had been done at an upward angle. The drill went through, but my mini easy-out would not budge the remains shell of the plug screw.
I called Colt, fully expecting to pay for a mill job or a cut-back barrel.
Today, Colt rep called and said they needed my FFL’s license. Why?
Because Colt decided to send me a new Python, with a new serial number🥳
Free of charge.
Much better than expected results are always nice.
