Confiscation and 4473's

Didn't the owners in New Zealand, for the most part, ignore their ban?
I don't believe so, but I don't have any data to back that up.

Your local sheriff is where the rubber meets the road. I would imagine that worst case could be a ban, such as bump stocks, folks might still have them, but go out to the range or use it for self defense and you'll find yourself in a losing legal battle. A door to door confiscation is too abrupt, they are smarter than that. The first thing that to happen is they must change the way people think, especially the fudds - (cue Eric Holder quote). They are half way there.

Expect a nasty shooting come next year when the news settles. All of these new gun owners will be turning them in to a blue "save a life" box. How about - if you see something say something - ?? Spy on your neighbors, make some extra cash...

I'm going to ask mine to deputize me so I'll be exempt. Easy peasy.

That's how it happened in CA. Register them or lose them. Without that permission slip from the crown you couldn't do anything with your evil gun (tm) because somewhere some FUDD would be happy to turn you in. They didn't have to go door to door, when you have this thing you can't use and if anyone finds out you lose.... most people didn't take the risk.

It's not about getting the guns, it's about destroying the culture and driving their enemies underground.

Yep, worked for the Soviets and East Germans too. šŸ˜

If my history is correct it seems that the IRA might have had a few methods in dealing with quislings.

They will never come knocking on doors. No need too. If they ever get a ban on semi-auto rifles or list them under the NFA that will be enough. From then on everyone not complying with the paperwork and regulations will have a felony sitting in their home. It will be a liability and not an asset. Think about it. What good will it be if you can't show it to anyone, you can't take it outside, and you can't shoot it. You may as well be hiding 10 pounds of heroin in your house. Add 10 or 20 years to the scenario and someone will eventually tell someone your "secret" at a cookout or over a beer (what good is knowing a secret if you can't tell anyone? šŸ¤£) and the word will get out or the family may just tell you to get that damn thing out of the house!
This is exactly what I've been saying for years, they will never come for our guns or do anything else that could cause a violent response that could energize us. They will ban them one cut at a time. When they are banned your guns will be good for only one thing, which is the reason the 2nd Amendment exists.

It's never time to bury your guns. If it's time to bury them, it's time to dig them up.
just had that talk with somebody the other day
don't get me wrong... i've got more "assault weapons" than I have fingers to pull triggers with.
worse comes to worst, I've got no problem packing a few underground for somebody else to dig up when the opportunity presents itself. Like many of you fine gents, i expect i'm on all the watchlists already and I think if they decide to come to take my guns, it won't be with a polite knock on the door in the daylight hours.

My current concern is if my life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage will include attacks by jackboots. I went ahead and increased my coverage, just in case.

For all those that say ā€œyou wouldnā€™t be able to shoot themā€ or ā€what good are they in your basementā€,,let me ask a dumb hypothetical question.

Would you want to be the guy to show up wearing at best a level 3a vest to tell someone that the 5.56mm, .308, .30.06, or .300 win or even the 6.5 Creedmore, or. 300 blk, etc rifle is going to earn him a lifetime stay in club Fed for shooting an ā€œillegalā€ weapon?

Iā€™d expect the FFLs to follow the letter of the law, if ā€œthe manā€ shows up demanding lists of who bought what and when, I wouldnā€™t blame them for not wanting to catch charges for non compliance, I knew what the deal was prior to signing the paperwork that the ā€œoverlordsā€ demanded we & FFLs require for the ā€œprivilegeā€of buying a firearm.

It will be interesting to see if that changes once they move out and start having adult responsibilities.

LMAO

They may change their minds when The Dark Side gets their way and starts turning our USA into a 4th World Country.

I am sure that my grown children would turn me in if there was a mandatory buyback. They have been indoctrinated by liberal state schools and growing up post 9/11. They have been sold the narrative. All have said "nobody needs a gun". It will be interesting to see if that changes once they move out and start having adult responsibilities.
The moving out part should start sooner than later.
