I was under the impression that the rules changed not so long ago with UPS & Fedex on shipping of firearms. No longer is an individual allowed to ship to an FFL, it has to be shipped by someone who is federally licensed and has an approved agreement with the carrier to ship firearms.
I called a local FFL to see if they offer shipping and I'm told that I can ship a pistol as long as I take it to a UPS or Fedex hub, not a retail store.
Below is what is on the UPS & Fedex sites when I searched earlier.

UPS

How To Ship Firearms

Shipments containing Firearm Products are accepted for transportation only from shippers who are federally licensed and have an approved UPS agreement for the transportation of Firearm Products.

Fedex
Only customers holding a Federal Firearms License (FFL) and federal, state, or local government agencies may ship firearms with FedEx. Customers holding an FFL must enter into an approved FedEx Firearms Shipping Compliance Agreement before shipping any firearms with FedEx. Also, you must be an approved firearm shipper with a signed contract on file with FedEx. For more information, contact your FedEx account executive.

Nonlicensee shippers

Nonlicensees are prohibited from shipping firearms with FedEx.

Your FFL is apparently not up to date on the changes at UPS & FedEx.

That's what I figured. My regular FFL doesn't offer shipping anyway and couldn't help. I spoke to the next closest to my location and that's where the info came from.
