Def call - he's an old school guy.Great- I've already reached out to him via his contact form on his website, but haven't heard back. More success just calling?
Local gunsmith in Lexington/Winston Salem area normally charges $75.....give or take that's about what most would normally charge.

Good Morning, we can do a AR type barrel's but could not do your Savage.
Thank You,
Bob
Nope, said something about he has a jig for AR barrels to use with a lathe. What type of savagae barrel is it a hunting profile. He rebarreled my savage so he can do them if they are big enough to thread and have a shoulder.
Well that's just stupid. It's just gonna get chucked up in the lathe, so no idea why he'd need a jig for that. Takes all of 30 minutes to thread a barrel. Come out here and I'll even show you how to do it yourself. (Free. Bit of a drive though)Nope, said something about he has a jig for AR barrels to use with a lathe.

That would make more senseHe will post later but he can thread any barrel that is big enough to take the thread needed and will reach through his lathe. If it won't reach through then he has to remove the action. Maybe that is where the misunderstanding is.
As long as the OD is .700 it can be doneHey guys,
I wondered if anybody could offer a rough cost estimate for adding standard thirty cal threading to a bolt action hunting rifle barrel. I am in the Piedmont area. Thanks!
Folks let me clarify this miss information concerning what Templar Custom can do concerning threading barrels.
Not sure where the AR15 only quote came from, but I thread all barrel types.
I can thread all types of bolt action rifles to include Savage / Remington / Browning / CZ / Ruger and so on
The barrel threading alone is $75. +25.00 to remove and remount the barrel in your receiver. There is an additional charge for barrels that have been glued into the receiver
I also thread AR15 / AR10 barrels so on and so on and some pistols.
I hope this helps clarify what threading service is offered
if you have any questions please feel free to call 919-629-8684

I think you meant to quote @Sas quatchGood morning Sas-Q,
I found the issue here; your Quote came from Templar - Custom - Arms in Windham OH, 330-326-2111. My Company Name is Templar Custom Apex, NC 919-757-7085, and I have been in business since 2008 and threading all types of barrels sense 2010. I can see how this can be easily confused, TCA folks are great people and offer excellent service, but they are not Templar Custom.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or just give me a call, I'll glad to help.
