We've got a pear tree we planted in the yard last year and it seems to be doing well. It's got a lot of blooms on it now.
Would it be a good idea to cover it tonight since it's gettin down around 30*?
Our other pear tree seems to have had some issues after a frost last season and I don't want this one jacked up.
Also, what do I need to do to help it get/keep going? Fertilizer?
We wanna get a few more trees and plant here in the next week or so.. Thanks..

Depending on the size of the plant/shrub/tree,
Old bedsheets, or a large tarp have worked for me.

30° is a hard freeze

If you lose those buds you'll lose the season for fruit thus year. In my experience the first year pears aren't great anyway, and I've heard people who suggest not letting it get fruit early on so the energy/resources can be spend on growth to strengthen the tree.

Here's the comments from the farmers almanac. It agrees with the people who I know with orchards.
