Crazy-Cool Hunt Today (***MILDLY GRAPHIC***)

Hair slippage is one thing to address.
Cut the lower lip off. If you pull it taught and cut the floppy part off. Cut the front legs a little shorter, add a little extra borax under where the legs flop down and touch the hide.
Remove the cartilage from the ears.
Pull the fur tighter onto the frame. Straighten it on the frame better. Should also be more narrow and not so wide.
Dry for a few days, depending on availability of heat. And then switch to fur out and let dry the rest of the way. Then it would be ready to send off to tan or home tan or sell.

Also wood frames or boards work better than the wire. Allows you to pin the fur flat and in place for better drying. (don’t forget the belly board)

Cats are some pretty fur. It is so cool that she is even interested in anything like this.

To me putting the fur up is almost my favorite part of the whole operation. 🙂

Cool. Thanks. She is trying to home tan then make something out of the 2 cats.

Not sure what she is gonna try to turn them into but she and her sister have been making a lot of their own clothes for the last 3 or 4 years.

I hope they get to the point where eventually they can make me one of those buffalo coats like the one the Indian gal made Jeremiah Johnson.

There is a guy on YouTube that does a very good job of showing and explaining the whole process.
Coon Creek Outdoors

Well worth the time to watch his fur handling videos.

Cool. We'll check him out.

Thanks for sharing, I always walk away a little smarter after reading these posts.
