Newest addition is a Beretta CX-4 in 40S&W. I've got a good amount of 40 left over from a trade I made a couple years ago. I used to have one of these in 9mm and loved it, and I used to have a .40 Just Right Carbine. I loved the 40 caliber in the JRC (hits hard!). The CX-4 is a better platform than the JRC IMO, so when I came across this one I went for it. It's used and the trigger is better on this one than the 9mm, This one seems to have been well broken in, or it's just the luck of the draw.
The CX-4 is extremely ergonomic, compact, and lightweight, all adding up to be off the charts fun to shoot. Less than 30 inches in length and at 5.6 oz, I think only the sub2000 is lighter and more compact, but not nearly as ergonomic. Today I shot it alongside (not literally, lol, I just propped it up there for the photo) my AR9 pistol to try and determine which was more accurate. It's still a little longer than the pistol even with the can on it, but next to a typical carbine or rifle it's tiny. It also sports a chrome lined button rifled barrel that is supposedly one of the best in terms of PCC accuracy.
That Millet DMS-1 is too much scope for it (too bulky/heavy), I put it on just for accuracy testing. The AR9 is my bedside rig and has just a red dot. Shooting at 50 yards what I found was that using the irons or scope at 1x the CX-4 gave me the same accuracy as the AR9, which was pretty bad and obviously due to my eyes because when I used magnification the groups shrank quite a bit. So without a magnified optic on the AR9 it's a draw so far. I need to try some premium .40 ammo in it, what I shot today was 180gr American Eagle and the best I could get out of it was about 4moa. Anyone else here have a CX-4 and if so how do you like it?
