CZ 457 Varmint MTR with SK standard +

I wanted to get a baseline with my CZ and SK ammo. Someone had asked about the CZ’s and ammo, so I decided to show what the cheap stuff did with the MTR.
The rifle is a totally stock Varmint MTR. I adjusted the trigger to just under a lb., and torqued the action screws to 18 “lbs.. Scope is a cheap ($250) Meuller.
Ammo is SK standard + @ $7 a box.
All groups are 5 shots at 50 yards shot at PHA in light swirling breeze, with calm periods.
1st group was foulers for clean cold barrel.

Very nice..I have several CZ 452’s and they all shoot well above their “weight class” One sports a Mueller Eradicator
5-25 similar to yours…

Do you usually use 5 groups as your yardstick? Seems like a good plan. 5 shot groups seems like a sensible number too.
Half a box of 50 sure sounds like a useful sample.

If I am not shooting Lapua Center X, I am shooting SK Standard. I love the stuff and it out shoots a lot of match ammo in my rifle.

I have attended, but haven’t shot yet. It’s intimidating when you see all perfect scores with X count determining the winner.

The target they use for your rifle's class has a 10 ring size that would have been hit by the rounds fired on numbered targets 2-5 above.... that is, if you had dialed in a touch of down elevation before shooting. It really looks like you got the equipment.

Your first 250 target would win you a ball cap no matter what the X count. 😊

I e got a .17 HMR in this gun. It shoots great, especially at 50-75 yards but is very wind sensitive any further.
