I am thinking about threading a CZ 75 Kadet. I have talked to a couple people who had the stock barrel extended and threaded by a smith. Does anyone have any experience with the threaded barrel that CZ sells?

I am wondering if it would be simpler to just buy the threaded barrel and put it in the kadet slide. It says gunsmith installation recommended but I am wondering how hard can it be?

$185 is steep. I'd ask around on the thread job. I bet you can get it done $75 ish.

The barrel is only held in with a roll pin, easy to remove.

The only issue is the stock barrel is flush fit with the slide. So you need to extend the stock barrel with some kind of adapter or get a new barrel.

This place was $160 before shipping.

    Yup.
    Here is mine.
The cool part about extending the barrel is it allows a perfect fit in the barrel bushing plus it allows the barrel to be put under tension. Makes for a seriously accurate barrel.

@Slacker, who did your barrel work?

In addition to the barrel work, I need to find someone to fit the slide to my SP-01 frame. The slide stops short on my frame and won't go all the way back to be mounted to the frame. It is like the rails get too tight for each other. I think I'm short around 3/8".

FYI, I called Joel and he declined. He said he wasn't doing much of that kind of work these days.

    @NKD, @Slappy McTrigger @NoNameHaveI , any ideas?

Mark did mine as well as some cerakote work on the frame cause it was kind of rough. I’m very happy with the work.

I bet you can fit slide to frame. It’s two little spots that need to be filed.
    Look for video on that.

Not sure on threading. I’ve actually never owned a kadet.

I think it is more than the normal two spots. I think the barrel block at the bottom is catching

Well I got the slide back from tornado technologies yesterday. I think they did a great job. Pics to follow.

Silencerco specs have O ring engagement.
Helps keep the threads clean and to keep the can from loosening up.
Here is my 77/22 WMR with silencerco spec threads and sparrow.
The front end non threaded portion slides into an o ring inside the can, keeps the gas, lead and debris away from the threads.

For a visual comparison, standard threading on the left, SiCo o-ring threading on the right

It's the plain old boring way. But I don't care because it's gonna be awesome. Really looking forward to hitting the range with this thing.

Kadet SAO is my favorite rimfire host.
Loading the mags is less than fun...but I heard mag loola makes a loader now.

There's a mod you can do to a regular mag loola to make it work on the cz mags as well as the normal mags it worked with originally. I think they call it the k mod.

Shooting with a silencer? Or just a comp of some kind? Or just wanting the barrel tension @Slacker mentioned?

Ok. Make sure the threads aren’t any longer than .400”

I will verify. It was on the work order that the threads should not be beyond .400" .

I like that the balance is not thrown off. The SP-01 is heavy enough that I don’t really feel like it’s front heavy with the can on it.

I had one done and the accuracy with a can was no bueno. Planned to try again one day, but now I’ve forgotten who did the last one.

@Slacker, Do you use a holster with your kadet? I noticed my holster for my SP-01 does not fit it with the kadet kit on. I'm considering some kind of universal holser vs getting another custom kydex holster made for the kadet kit.

I use a blade tech CZ P01 OWB paddle.
    It fits both slides perfectly.
My CZ75 is a Shadow though, so it's different than the SP01.

I think they make one factory now that works with the kadet.

I used a file to slim down the tongue to for the kadet mag. Took maybe 10 minutes.
