I asked y’all a little while back about hunting hogs with 10mm and was guided towards 200 gr hard cast bullets. Does the same hold true for eastern NC deer hunting too? I have a box or two 180gr xtp hollow points on hand and a couple thousand 200 gr hard cast in a mix of hunters supply and rim rock bullets. What will be my best bet for clean, fast, ethical kill on eastern nc deer?

I have taken a good sized 6 point with a 180gr. 40 sw at about 25 to 30 yards. Didn't move more then a couple yards.

I’m just going to stick with the hard cast. I’ve got spot set up in the woods I’m going to hunt tomorrow longest shot will be 20 yards hopefully I’ll get a chance at a buck. I shot two does yesterday and I plan to hold off on anymore does until late season.
