It's the South's largest whitetail expo- and is huge. Three of the buildings in the fairgrounds are taken up by this. It's not a 'gun show', but the Dorton area has vendors there (I managed to get some reloading supplies there). Not being a gun show also means that I don't think anyone sells jerky, jewelry or purses....

But- Hickok45 will be there! All three days, doing some talks, but more generally walking around. Should be easy to spot as I hear he's really tall. Also there are the 'dock dogs' jumping competition, bb gun shoot (win a hat), and 'venison chili cookoff'.

Info here: https://www.dixiedeerclassic.org/

(it's a non-profit that runs the show, btw)

I haven't been to the dixie deer classic in a very long time. Plan on going today with my kid. Do they allow you to conceal carry?

I attended last year for the 1st time and saw the sign. I was a little shocked that a hunting expo would be anti gun. You could buy them there, just not have your own.

I'm certain it's not 'anti-gun', since there are gun vendors. Unlike a gun show, they don't want people carrying them around, having special gates and inspections, etc. When a gun is sold at the show, they walk someone out an exit so they're not carrying it around through the show. I didn't ask what the rule is about concealed.

I get it, but I don't think CCW guys need special provisions of any sort. If a mall, restaurant or other establishment bans CCW I would label them as anti-2A. Maybe right-Maybe wrong, but I do. I don't see a reason to categorize them differently.
The irony is that without the 2A every vendor there would be doing something else for a living....but don't carry there.
