yes, there are some people we would like to send to Mars,
but this is a legitimate simulation in Houston for evaulation.

First, that 3D printed facility was very cool to watch in that part of the video
Second, Im curious how realistic they'll make it as far as communication and even a 'roof' on the living quarters.
I say that ,I think one of the issues with that long of a time would be the small environment of a space shuttle etc. And while the walls would be of 'normal' size, the openness wouldnt give the crew members the same feeling, in my opinion. Also, Im sure there's a lag in communication equipment, sending/receiving stuff to family etc.

Lastly - I wonder what the pay is.

Yep! I’d have to pick my people. A mission like this, you will need a very cohesive group.

What's the point? Once they find the Ring network, Mars will become a ghost town, half the military will run off to Laconia and you'll be stuck in a pipe dream that will never be finished.
