Does Anyone Take Berberine?

Can you be more specific? Goldenseal has Berberine in it, as well as 2 other potent alkaloids. It matters most what you take it for.

I bought some from Vitamin Shoppe, it was good I dont recall the brand. Took it for a couple months and stopped. Didn't notice it too much when I stopped...but I also stopped eating sugar.

Didn't know that. I'm just looking for a decent-quality berberine supplement. A relative was recently diagnosed with diabetes (type 2) and is having trouble choosing from the options she's found so far. I told her I'd ask on the board. You guys know everything.

I'm a type 2 diabetic. On several meds and insulin. The one thing that has helped me more than anything has been Korean red ginsing. Even with meds my morning numbers were in the 200+ range. I started the red ginsing and my numbers dropped to 180, the 160, and kept dropping. I wake up in the morning with my blood sugar levels in the 70's and 80's. My last a1c was 6.9. It would be better if I ate a better diet. I have told a lot of type 2 people about my success. Several have started taking the red ginsing and have had similar results.

Look for a Pharma grade supplement supplier. Lots of products are not high quality or the correct form for assimilation.
Berberine is good stuff. Herbal Medics has info on this and lots of others if you want.

Berberine is a super important alkaloid for causing a hypersecretion of the mucous membranes.
In a short term this can be useful in treating Mucous producing areas with infections, less than 2 weeks to be safe.

One thing that can help control blood glucose is Bitter melon capsules : Take 2 a day not one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00014EAS...crid=1DLOF0179ONOZ&amp=&sprefix=bitter+melon+

You can also get sliced dried Ginseng root to put between cheek & gum makes a difference & like bitter melon you can use them for long periods.

Do you have a good source for Korean red ginsing?

If you use berberine or know somebody who does, can you recommend a good brand and source?

Thanks

Excellent question and as to what brand to suggest, for me I've come to learn it's not that simple as there's quality ~ purity issues involved as follows;

While any drug effects folks different, Berberine is no different.
Anyone wanting to try it, ( as with any supplement ~ drug ) I would encourage one to run it by your PCP first.
Among others things, Berberine can lower Blood Pressure as well.
We have a doctor that is against Berberine because it is not FDA approved.
Yes, this was stated by the doctor at a scheduled visit and my immediate response was , "neither are Covid Jabs and an "EUA" is not a full licensed approval.

Anyone that has a PCP that does not want to deal with supplement~s, including Berberine, I would suggest you find an Osteopath or a chiropractor that explores holistic solutions before placing you on all kinds of drugs.

Laugh at or discount chiropractors?
Don't, while many are bone crackers, there are some that practice sports medicine and are very proficient in reading "Blood Work" properly with the knowledge ~ experience of how our bodies systems work with each other.

Do you have a good source for Korean red ginsing?

I have hunted & used Sang for over 40 years.
I use the sliced root fresh or dried & not the Red process they use in Korea. Too processed 4 me.
A thin slice placed like jerky in your mouth & allowed to swell & soften will convert with the help of your saliva into what you want.

Ginseng is not majik it's chemicals made by God for animals & plants use to stay healthy.

Simply put Ginseng works by helping your body balance your Chi, all our organs must work together or we will get ill.

Just like food herbs can heal you or sicken you, it's your choice. Herbs with potent alkaloids, Phenols, etc. can cause great harm if not used properly.
When I do an online search about herbalism today I see way too much information & not a lot of basics on how these chemicals work in our bodies.
Just buying a bottle of Pomegranate caps & taking 1 a day as directed will do squat for you. You need 3 a day for a year then 2 a day from then on.
I started taking Pomegranate 40 years ago after reading an article in the Lancet. My blood is so full of bad fats that I have had Drs. beg me to take
Statins & call me a walking dead man. Last year at 71 I had my first ultrasound check of my carotid arteries & they were clean as a whistle. I told them. 😉
