People actually file these?
The Form 1, Form 4, and 5320.20 all exempt silencers (and AOWs) from requirement permission to travel. What in the world are they checking for? The F1/F4 itself?I'd also do it if you're hunting out of state with a suppressor. I know a bunch of you NC guys travel to my part of SC to hunt and the game wardens around here have started asking questions when they see a suppressor from what I've been told by other guys they've hit up coming out of the woods.

FuddloreAnyone who travels out of state for matches and the like best be doing it. I'd also do it if you're hunting out of state with a suppressor. I know a bunch of you NC guys travel to my part of SC to hunt and the game wardens around here have started asking questions when they see a suppressor from what I've been told by other guys they've hit up coming out of the woods. It's pretty common for them to see a pickup with NC plates parked on side of game management land and just pull in behind them and wait for the guy to come back to his truck just to go on a fishing trip for possible tickets.
I guessing where the laws around hunting with suppressor and night vision hunting have been changing in SC over the last couple years it just puts a little extra attention on you. The couple I know that had interactions with the DNR guys said they're not checking for forms or copies of stamps, just asking do you know where/when/how that's legal to use in SC and then going over checking license, tags, safety vest, etc. Maybe it's just the local guys here but most people I know hunting with a suppressor aren't putting a 6 inch long suppressor on a 20in rifle barrel and then going out moving through the woods, they're all running 10-15in barrel sbrs and those as far as I know are required to notify for travel out of state. The Form 1, Form 4, and 5320.20 all exempt silencers (and AOWs) from requirement permission to travel. No more than any other law enforcement, if they thought there was anything wrong they'd just do like sheriff's office and refer it over to BATFE for investigation.Water cops experts in tax forms now too?
The cool thing about the internet, you're free to believe whatever you like. But you are required by law to do it, you did agree to do it and be bound by the laws around the items you purchased or manufactured and there are penalties for getting caught. Other than the cost of a postage stamp it's free so....Fuddlore
Wait what? You don’t need these? Only for suppressors or form 1 SBRs also? The Form 1, Form 4, and 5320.20 all exempt silencers (and AOWs) from requirement permission to travel. What in the world are they checking for? The F1/F4 itself?
