Double action rimfire

I had a buddy ask me to keep my eyes open for a double action .22 revolver.

Since I'm fairly ignorant on most subjects, wouldn't most major manufacturers' offerings be double action, unless it's some old West type replica piece? Or would the mix be a higher percentage?

There are some vintage 22 revolvers that look like a single action cowboy pistol, but are double action. The H&R 922 Sportsman is a top break nine shot 22 revolver, one of the best! The Smiths are double action, but the Ruger Single Six is single action.

Ruger makes double action .22's in the SP101 and GP100 lines....excellent wheel guns!

I have a lot of them. I've had to make a new firing pin for one of my old S&W 17s beacuse the firing pin was too short from the factory. My other one works fine though.

My old colt trooper is the 22 I shoot the most though

The 922 is actually a solid frame. The 999 is the top break. I have a 999 Sportsman that I got from a CFF member a few years ago. Wanted one since I was a kid.

I also have a GP100 in .22lr. It has a much better trigger than I expected, and is super accurate.

I’ve got a Taurus tracker 8 shot with a 6” barrel and another one with a 2” barrel. Great little guns, and weren’t pricey at all…

S&W Model 63 or 317 J, 17/617 K, or, if you must, Taurus clone.

90%+ of all shots will probably be fired SA anyway however.

Thanks, have had both, so I get 'em mixed up. The Sportsman is by far the better revolver.

The Ruger LCRx is a fine little double action .22LR. I really like the 3" barreled model with adjustable sights.

Just get a S&W 48. Load up with .22 Magnums and shoot at dusk. Nice flame thrower effect, and the bullet travels Mo faster😋
