I've upgraded to a newer trolling motor and the old trolling motor (minnkota 24v 80lb) has a pretty good area of rust where it rests in the cradle. Over the last 2 years I've sanded it, prepped it with rust converter and the first time used rustolium spray and it still rusted. The next time same prep, converter, degrease, and used car "epoxy" one part paint in a spray can, but the rust came back. Now that I'm about to sell it I took it to the authorized shop in Newbern to give it a once through to make sure it is good to go when I sell it. I'm not one to advertise beyond what it is. He sanded, used converter, and he said in his 15 years of doing it that Rustoium high heat works best. We'll 2 days later the rust bled through.
So now I'm thinking of some type of 2 part epoxy based paint. I can remember there used to be cans that you "popped" the two components together, shook like crazy, and then sprayed. Does anyone know where I might find this or have any other ideas?
Thanks,
