UPS usually does better than this.

I thought maybe the vendor gave me an errant tracking number, but I’m getting delivery notifications from UPS.

I did this past Friday, cept mine said shipped, porch drop off in New Jersey on Aug5th
 
I placed an order last Wednesday, 11-24, with a company in WI. On Thursday I get an email saying my package had been delivered via USPS. Checked the tracking number and it showed that it was delivered to Polson, MT, on Aug. 7, 2021. Turns out the USPS re-used a tracking number. Below is the response from the company I ordered from.

Packaged arrived today.

Ive had some issues with various places in regards to tracking numbers. Some which state it's been delivered the day it was shipped or went the opposite direction etc - Ive been told that it's due to a screw up typing in a number. Never had an issue with it arriving (unless we're talking FE last week when they didnt DELIVER on their shipping standard)
 
I figured it wasn’t an isolated case, but wanted some affirmation. I've got to have those exhaust gaskets so I can go blasting around again and make more racket.

Um, I hate to put sunshine on your rain parade... but I ordered several somethings, not all related in application, from Amazon yesterday afternoon. They sent it via UPS instead of their cadre of carriers... it arrived about 4:45pm today.

o_O I was astounded. But my (regular) UPS guy here is outstanding. Still. 24 hours & not an in-house carrier.


Dangit! I knew I shoulda bought a lottery ticket on my way home.
 
I've got a SAA I want to ship to Nutmeg Sports for grips and an action job.
I'm going to wait until Feb 2022 to let some of this mess settle down.

I had something from elsewhere delivered by UPS last week in a very timely fashion, but the tracking had dropped off the map about a day into the journey. I expect this parcel will appear in a few days. I had just never had it happen, and wanted to guess wheher I need that parts house to send me some more gaskets in the meantime.

I’m putting the stock head pipe back on so I could probably use the gaskets that are still on the jugs, but I need new gaskets for the O2 sensors in the head pipe, and they are like crush washers. One use only. As much trouble as I have had getting this beast tuned right, I don’t want O2 leaks into the pipes.

When you get that dually running, maybe we can make a run to the windy city and pick up that Laguna Orange Road King.
 
So the package for which I was sent erroneous UPS tracking Wednesday before Thanksgiving arrived today via USPS First class mail, with an original shipping label that was for USPS First class mail.

Happened twice to me…once with UPS and once with USPS.
