I have a couple Excalibur Cross bows. I do have the 335 micro Nightmare and it’s been an excellent cross bow. I am partial to recurves. Naturally any of the micro series will kill any big game in North America. I have two Excal Suppressors, love em, nice and quiet. https://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/crossbows/microsuppressor/Anybody have experience with their Micro series? Specifically looking at the Micro 340 TD.
You will reeeeeeally like the accuracy, I have a 20 yd range in my basement. And the simplicity of a recurve is great.I have never been a fan of then compound cross bows, one issue afield and well it could mean hunts over. I have carried and extra string and never needed it. You will also really like the de-cocking feature.@Patriot
I finally found a 340TD in stock in SC. I've just barely had time to sight it in at 20 yards. I wanted a recurve just for the simplicity, and the TD's ability to pack down was a plus.
Are you using the hand crank cocker? I am, and have yet to try the rope cocker. I'll be 61 next week, and always been on the skinny side, not sure that I could use the rope. I wouldn't hunt with the crank attached, but it's easy to practice with it attached. Doesn't get in the way if the handle is off.You will reeeeeeally like the accuracy, I have a 20 yd range in my basement. Congrats on the TD, post up a pic when you have time.
I am also 61 and I use the rope. I just go slow and steady and it works just fine. I really enjoy hunting with the Excals. Quiet and very lethal. Most deer after a heart lung shot usually drop at 35-45 yards. Quick and clean. Are you using the hand crank cocker? I am, and have yet to try the rope cocker. Very nice set up. Does it come with the case?
Cabelas has it as a package with the case. I got this one at a bow/gun shop in SC that just happened to have the case and the crank cocker in stock.Very nice set up. Does it come with the case?
Does that scope have the lighted reticle?Cabelas has it as a package with the case. I got this one at a bow/gun shop in SC that just happened to have the case and the crank cocker in stock.
The case has WAY more volume and pockets than needed, but I suppose that's a plus.
YesDoes that scope have the lighted reticle?
Nice..you will like that as well.
Actually just turned it on for the first time. I like to red/green options. Do you have target suggestions? Bought one (yellow jacket I think) but would like a few to spread out. Nice to have projectiles that are reusable!Nice..you will like that as well.
