Really curious about everyone's feedback on the brand. I like their EDC flashlights but a lot of their offerings can be gimmicky to say the least. A while back I had bought a laser/light combo I was planning on putting on my "bump in the night" gun so I'm curious what you all think.

Good but not durable?

There are several light oriented threads with defenders and detractors of o-light.

All I’ll say is that after RO’ing several Night matches, and seeing the results of stuff actually being used hard, that my O-lights are now sitting in drawers.

EDIT: I'm strictly speaking of weapon mounted. Handhelds are probably good to go.

That seems about right, I wouldn't expect a relatively inexpensive light to be able to be put up against serious gear.
From your experience would you bother having them on at all?

Nope. I’ve become a firm believer in buy once, cry once for lights.

Surefire, Streamlight, Arisaka…

I have a couple of thier products and like them. Then again I don't exactly beat on them.

I'll probably run the Olight until the voices in my head convince me to go streamlight, the TLR-8 looks like what I should have sprung for perhaps... maybe Santa reads forums and its not too late.

I'm with you Alpharius on their lights, I've got a baton 3 I love for lasting all through my hunting season

Agreed. I've had some cheaper lights over the years and they're just not worth it in the long run. I will say that although the Streamlight TLR-1 is great, The rail mount lights like the HLX have some issues. I had to get an Arisaka Surefire tailcap adapter for my HLX to get it working decent. Got a Cloud Defensive Rein 1.0 and it's way better. And of course Surefire is great as well.

Similar experience, streamlight pistol lights are amazing. I have had 2 hlx do some funky stuff on rifles (never seen issues on the rm1s and rm2s though). The go to rifle has an arisaka.

I’ve never been a Olight fan pertaining to overall products but I have the Baton3 Premium with charging case. I absolutely love it. Really small, 1200 lumens, 3.7 charges out of the lightweight case, and best of all clips to a hat for hands free operating.

I typically buy Fenix for quality and performance for a little larger edc and tactical.
I met a friend for beer yesterday and tested his edc Zebra. I like the light output color. Zebra gets good reviews.

I have a micro Olight on my keychain. It has lasted for years, most of the anodizing has worn off. I have no problem with them as handhelds, would probably go another route for a weapon mounted light.

Exactly my future path as well. I really like the tiny keychain ones. I usually time my orders with give aways so I've got one on the keys, in the glove boxes of my cars, desk... maybe bathroom next lol

I grabbed a BALDR pistol laser/light combo when they went on sale earlier this year as my first handgun WML. It works, but it's sitting in a drawer. Partly because I decided I just don't like pistol mounted lights or lasers, and paartly because the laser won't hold zero.

Uh oh... that's what I got around the similar time they went on a sale. better make sure have high enough capacity the probability of catching a hit will eventually work out

to be clear - mine holds zero fine while shooting but it wanders when I remove/re-attached it. I have to assume you could knock it out of whack if you get rough on the pistol, but I didn't try any of that.

I don’t beat on my olight mini, it’s on my bedside pistol so for what it’s being used for it’s great(never leaves the house) but definitely wouldn’t think it could stand up to firearms training/matches/competitions.
