I know this has been brought up before but I thought someone may have a new lead on this topic.

Anyone know of any gun friendly eye doctors? I am in the RDU area but would be willing to drive a ways if necessary.

Dr. Ilan Dock is very good and a shooter. He recently joined Uwe Canting's practice in Cary. Triangle Visions Optometry.

Dr. Canting is the one who made trifocal safety shooting glasses for me that allow me to see both the front site sight and the distant target. Both great eye doc's

516 Optical Ln, Cary, North Carolina or can call to book an appointment on 919-468-2636.

Why does the doctor have to be gun friendly? Just curious.

Thank you. Will give them a call

They tend to have a better understanding of the impacts of astigmatism and getting an Rx that may be different for front sight focal length. I actually had a doctor that was dropping lenses in front of me when laying prone with iron sights aiming at a target taped to the door, but sights attached to a broomstick or yardstick at the appropriate length works too.

Thanks. I've needed to get an exam for a while and this pushed me over the edge. I have have an appointment with Dr. Dock next week.

I had an eye appointment a year or so ago at Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat, in Steele Creek. Doctor comes in and I assume he’s a young skinny jean wearing hipster. Turns out we shoot at the same clay course. He was able to help me a lot more by speaking “shooter language”. So yes, I can attest that a doctor who enjoys firearms is a huge plus.

Dr Mary Gross. Cary eye car center. She is a UNC graduate. I've been going to her almost since she started her practice. I asked her about seeing the front site and she said she had helped a number of folks with this issue. Nice Lady, good Dr.
