I gave up trying to make my AR10s highly accurate. I have very good barrels, both on Aero platforms, one 16 and one 20. I can get MOA but I've had a hard time getting subMOA. Used multiple bullets, powders, primers, and cases. Honestly though, the worst is that the cases really get chewed up when you get to higher pressures.

I've had MUCH better luck with 15s. I built a sub MOA for me and my son. Last time at the range my son pulled a .44 MOA 5 shot group with the load we've been working up, and that's with range pickup LC 5.56 brass.

Sounds like a revised NRA AR TACTICAL class rifle, with a few more caveats.

I've shown up to some F-class matches (300yd reduced) with my AR15 service rifle before and was allowed to compete as a sling shooter. It's good prone practice and every now then I managed to place in the top tier too!

600 yards with an AR in 223/556 is a done deal. 10x optic? Shooting fish in a barrel. But 1K yards is a whole 'nother matter.

I came across the article and thought it was a different slant on LR shooting so I posted it just for fun. But remember they are using standard F Class targets. That means 20 rounds in a 1 MOA target in a set time. Throw some wind and mirage in there and I bet it would be quite challenging with a .223/5.56, Like anything else in LR, it will take a good rifle, good ammo, good optics, and a good shooter to make it all work.;)

And if I'm not mistaken, you have to load from a mag, so you can't use those long, high BC bullets unless you cram them way down in the case.
