Father protects entire floor of mall during shooting

Good for him.

Shame on the Washington examiner for burying his comment that gun free zones put people at risk and not pointing out the irony of a gang shooting in a gun free zone. They mentioned I think 3-4 times that the mall was a gun free zone. Clearly that didn’t help anyone here, it just puts the law abiding CCW’er at legal risk.

Kid is sitting on the sidewalk in Raleigh banging on a pan with a stick.
I ask him what he’s doing.
He says protecting the city from a herd of stampeding elephants.
I point out that there is no stampeding herd of elephants in NC.
He says that it’s working even better than he expected.

"And I think to myself........what a wonderful world"

Interesting article in that it doesn't paint the CCWer as a bloodthirsty killer trying to gun down aspiring rap stars in the mall.

what's up wa po? you mentioned the shooters and the CCWer all in a gun free zone a half dozen times, you're still trying!

I make sure I'm in total compliance with gun postings wherever I'm at.

Which means if they don't carry the force of law, they can bite me.

They can also bite me where they do carry the force of law if they aren't posted IAW jurisdictional statutes.

SC, for example, is very specific about sign requirements...exact size, wording, letting size, symbol, and posting requirements. The perfect sign posted knee high is NOT posted in accordance with the requirements and makes me smile. And if there are multiple entrances into a building and the door I enter isn't posted? Well, that makes me smile, too.

“Force of Law” in NC means you can get trespassed if you get busted and subject to a $500 infraction if you refuse to leave. And, there’s a pretty high bar to enforcement (every entrance, conspicuous signage). An ankle-height transparent sign with tiny font is probably going to be ignored by most people that are even looking for one

The only signs that deter me from patronizing a store are Everytown signs and those holier-than-thou “no human is illegal/XYZ is a human right” slogan-vomit signs. People are absolutely free to live in a lawless money-free commune with no social norms like grammar, property ownership, nuclear families, or personal responsibility... and they are absolutely welcome to leave the country to go join one.
