My wife got on a kick of buying NC liquor. So far, our favorites are:

1000 Piers Gin: Anise and citrus forward gin with a floral finish. The wife calls it (in case gin lovers are reading this) Monkey 47 Lite.

Cape Fear Rum: Smooth and a tiny bit spicy with lovely cream notes.

Krupknikas: You have to try this. Sweet and spicy version of a Polish classic.

The Uncatchable (I had the strawberry): a lovely example of a Southern sour mash spirit. (DON'T eat the berries. They taste like berry rubbing alcohol.)

Drumlish: I have not ever had REAL Irish poitin (poteen), but this version is fun and approachable. Smooth and beautifully spiced with a whisky finish and no hint of barrel to be found. One of my personal favorites.

How about other folks share their NC produced favorites so I have a list of new things to try?

Conniption gin and the same distillery puts out the brand Damn Fine Liqueur. I like the mocha one.

Tiny Cat Vodka distilled here in Greensboro.
My favorite is their Gin - Emulsion.
I buy it when I see it and prefer it over most any others, and I used to drink a lot of gin.
Supposedly their bourbon is really good. They sell out the day they put it out for sale last I heard.

I posted about this one recently. I bought it on a whim for a friend’s bachelor party, turns out it’s a very good rum! That reminds me, I should stop and grab some more this weekend.

I just left mystic... we bottled 1150 bottles of the 2a bourbon. It's been approved for sale in nc! Took 4 and a half hours of non stop busting butt. After we had a few shots of their broken oak which just won an award for best 5 year bourbon in the world. Here's some pics

Come on out to mystic Sunday for a free tasting. Bottles, glasses, shirts, and hats will be for sale. All of the sales will donate a portion to folds of honor, the second amendment foundation, and grassroots nc.

They have routine tours where you can sample multiple different drinks. Today they had 6 different ones i believe. The heart, soul, broken oak, gin, their honey meed, and some single barrel stuff and then we had the 2a bourbon. It was a great time.
