I’m currently really liking the Kahr PM9. Not a malfunction with about 500 rounds so far, conceals and shoots great.
Wondering what others preferred for a pocket 9mm

Man I’m 6’3, 265 and I could never imagine pocket carrying a 26!Shield or G26.
The gun really has blown me away. Got me hooked on KahrI carried a LCP for many years. I picked up a Kahr CM9 and have not looked back. This thing eats anything I put through it. Now that cooler weather is here and I can wear jeans and a sweatshirt, I rotate out a few different guns with IWB carry. But for pocket carry the CM9.
I have a 43 as well, great little shooter. I shoot the PM9 just a tad bit more accurately. Can put about a 4 inch group at 12 yards standing with the PM9, haven’t tried any farther than that yet. Love that gunI’ve pocket carried a S&W BG 380, Kahr CW380, Ruger LC380, LC9s, LCP II, Sig P365, and a G43
Of those, the G43 is hands down the best shooter. For me.
I can edit this to say P938 and it remains a vaild statement.LC9s, though "pocket gun" is debatable. Still a dandy little, easy to shoot well, little 9mm. If yer a 1911 person, the controls are in the right spot & work the right direction. Reckon this'd include the EC9 as well.
Very good point. I’ve practiced drawing and shooting from concealment with both pocket holsters and waistband and the pocket draw was obviously slower. It helps a lot to have a pocket holster with a thumb release (I have the Alabama) so you’re able to push down on the holster and draw instead of having to “hook” it on your pocket to draw. I still haven’t used it in a BUG match but want to like no other; I’d really like to see how the little guy holds up. You’re spot on with the about 2.5 second draw to fire from pocketI can draw from a pocket holster and shoot pretty well, and have run my pocket rockets from my pocket in BUG matches for 4-5 years, but last year I discovered I couldn’t beat the Wizard drill doing it. Even worse, I was sometimes presenting the gun to the target with the pocket holster still on the gun due to the speed with which you need to draw to beat that 2.5 second par time in that drill.
Which is why I no longer pocket carry, for the most part.
I've relegated pocket carry to only the really hot summer months with cargo shorts or a super quick run to the corner for something, for this exact reason. Even then, I'll slide the butt out of the pocket while sitting in the car so I can reach it.One thing to keep in mind.
How well you stand and shoot at paper targets with a firearm in un-timed drills, and how well you can draw it from concealment and shoot it in timed drills will be a very revealing exercise.

This Wizard drill looks great, if only my range allowed you to shoot from the holster -_-. I’ll give it a go when I’m at another range, looks solid.Pocket carry a Ruger LC 9 S when it" s warm and I'm not wearing a heavy shirt or coat. Draws and shoots pretty well for me. I beat the Wizard using this pistol .
According to Hackathorn on this video, if you’re pocket carrying, you start with you hand in your pocket on the gun
I would say advantage rather than cheating. Shooting a smaller pistol brings the disadvantage of grip consistency and sighting. I'm just playing a game and following the rules.Always felt like that was cheating...
Call it what you want. If you have a Glock 43 in clown pants pockets and have your grip already and mine is holstered inside my waistband with my hands by my sides because I didn't get my pants from a 90's rap video, it's not an even playing field... That's not even the same game...I would say advantage rather than cheating. Shooting a smaller pistol brings the disadvantage of grip consistency and sighting. This^^^^^^^ Is very important. The Wizard is The Gold Standard for concealed carry [Ken Hackathorn]. Out of 2,600+ tries here we have had 11 Wizard Killers. We had a man that was part of the 5 man World Team try...he was Close. One thing to keep in mind.

I’m right there with you man, carry what makes you comfortable and what you’ll actually carry everyday, not every other day. Always enjoy reading your posts. I said it once and I’ll say it again, it’s like sitting around a campfire reading your comments. This^^^^^^^ Is very important. The Wizard is The Gold Standard for concealed carry [Ken Hackathorn]. The one thing that stands out is that Every Wizard Killer either used Pocket Carry or Appendix. PERIOD.....No Exceptions. That does Not mean that those are the only way to do it But it Is food for thought.
As for me....I carry every step and shoot every day.....Two guns Always outside the Gates.....Always Pocket.....Just Me.
We must all seek our own salvation.....just be willing to Try Something New!
Always felt like that was cheating...
Our hero Cooper used to say the greatest compliment anybody could give your chosen platform was............Why, That's not Fair!I would say advantage rather than cheating.
Big, what you are doing is Proving the validity of one carry over the other. The simple fact that you acknowledge "it's not even the same game" proves how much more effective it is. It's not even Close here for sure. Notice how Easy Ken makes it look from a holster carried at about 4 OC under a vest. For you to be able to do this would require 100s of hours of practice. You could get the same results in a Day shooting from your pocket. Just because you don't carry Pocket Style doesn't mean that doing it the way Ken does is the only way. The test is in fact to help You figure out the best way to get rounds on targets in an efficient and accurate manner. If you see what works and choose not to try that, that is all well and good But it doesn't invalidate the findings.Call it what you want.
