I'm out in the garage this morning finishing the restoration of a shotgun stock when I received the message that a friend had passed away last night.
Pete Erdner started the Gun Smithing program at Montgomery community college in 1979 and then moved to start the Gun Smithing program at Piedmont community college in 1984.
I met him when I started gunsmitting schooll in 1994. Pete is one of the most unique people that I have known. He is funny, intelligent , helpful , energetic, caring and tough. He is the reason I am now a gunoholic.
When I started school I had a 22 rifle and pistol and two shotguns. Learning from Pete how to repair/restore firearms opened the floodgates.
My range day this week will be in tribute to you Pete . You will be greatly missed.
