Firewood

It’s a young tree, probably not more than 10-12ish years old. We planted it and then about 2 years later built a building a bit too close to it without thinking, so yeah.

Always heard some folks like it for smoking up meat and figured it’d be more use for that instead of just rotting away.

Dunno if the old man would wanna put it in our fireplace, he’s particular about it cuz of creosote ya know. Neither of us know if pecan makes it bad like pine.
Pecan is some hot burning stuff and burns clean

4 guys from the local Lions Club came to the house this morning, cut up and split the shagbark hickory tree that split off in a storm back in May. They filled up a 6x12 trailer pretty quickly. They are having their semi-annual BBQ 2 weeks from today and smoke the meat with hickory.
