First Friday lunch thread (Charlotte area): next one 5/3/24

I'll tell her your feelings were hurt, so you aren't coming back.
You gotta tell her it’s because she said I wasn’t welcome. 😝

Traffic was light and Im here already.
Megan is very unhappy with you...and has some words for you...but the look of shock on her face was funny as hell 😂
🤣🤣🤣

Hey Don

Have you got public wifi there? I've got to get some work on my car done up the street so I figured I could hang out there for lunch and work for a while from my laptop.

So I stopped in to Pineville Tavern last night. I had dropped off the vehicle to get a hitch installed across the street and by the time it was ready for pickup my hunger was ringing the dinner bell. I had my wife with me so we went in to say hi to Megan and Don and eat a burger. My wife's convinced after her first bite, this is the best burger in Charlotte area. Now she's going to be requesting a take out burger with every lunch I attend.

Now I may have to spring for a burger instead of wings at the next one.

My wife and daughter are absolutely brutal food critics.

Several years ago I took them to Don's and was stunned that both of them absolutely loved the burgers.

I can't remember which burger my daughter had, but my wife had the garlic burger.

I rarely give good food reviews myself, but Don’s wings are the best I’ve had in the Charlotte area. The inferno sauce is legit if you’re into hot stuff.

Couldn't help myself - got the garlic burger last night with the onion rings. Couldn't taste much garlic through the other condiments, but it was a darn good burger. Tough to find places that do a smash-style burger who don't overcook it! Juicy as heck inside.

The last time my wife had that burger, her opinion was something changed in the method.

She swears the first one she ate had a layer of garlic in the center of the patty, where the second one didn't have that layer.

I haven't had one, so I can't say either way.

Lunch week is here again…

I'm a maybe. I've got a situation.

I do believe I am in, and with a special guest or 2!

Planning on being there unless my wife commandeers me for the day. Her birthday is this week, but in her eyes you celebrate birthday months, not birthdays.

Bring her.

You hold.
We'll spank :D

Well…start time was 2p last Friday, which would’ve worked for lunch. But it’s gonna be 5:30a (for the 4th time this week) tomorrow, so unless I’m in the area and can stop by for a minute, you’ll all miss my pretty face again. 😢

I’ll be there at some time or another.

I'm going to try and make it. I'm putting a couple butts on the smoker around midnight for a neighborhood street cookout tomorrow night. If they look like they don't need attending in the morning, I'll head over.

Left my house at 6:30, met @Butter at 9:30 and just pulled into Pineville Tavern

I'm dealing with a situation. I'd rather be there.

One of the butts was running about 5 degrees ahead of the other since it was a little thinner. Had to hang out here to pull it. Probably another hour or so on the second one. Hate I missed lunch again.

I hate I missed it again, but I told my eye doctor today that I wasn't going to do any more Friday appointments, so barring flood, famine, and pestilence, I'll see you guys next time.

If Democrats as President, Vice-President, Governor, all members of the County Commission, Mayor, Mayor Pro-Tem, Police Chief, Fire Chief, District Attorney, Sheriff, CEOs of the Library system and CATS, Chair of the Board of Education, and both members of Congress from Mecklenburg County don't constitute "pestilence", then I'm not sure what does.
