First project from my new shop. Update. Shark cootchie boards added

Putting the finishing touches on the first project made in my new shop. Walnut and maple cutting board. This is after the first coat of cutting board oil. I will do two more coats at least then several coats of butcher block conditioner. What do you think?

Yes. I tried mixing sanding dust with it to give it the same color as the wood but I think I like it better with just clear epoxy.

Nice! I made one in a neighbors shop a long time ago as a Christmas present. I’d love to have space to do them. First one I made was of walnut and 30 year old oak fence boards

These were made from some cherry wood my uncle gave my dad when I was 16 so that put it over 50 years old. Man does it ever soak up the oil.

If you use this as an actual cutting board, how does the epoxy hold up to the cutting??

The places that required epoxy were small in most cases just filling small voids in a knot. This is not like an epoxy pour.
