Heyday of Naval aviation. Not the one-plane-does-it-all of today.
The one black Whale is pretty cool.
I love the A-5's looks. It's an elegant, sleek aircraft. I read a story from an A-5 pilot, said his worst part of any flight was taxiing after landing; the nose wheel was so far aft he would be steered nose-first over the edge of the deck, over water, and then directed to stop or turn. He said if he got out, it would be a 60' fall into the water.
I am guessing that pic is 60s/70s?
