They're putting a solar farm up the road from the house. Short version, they told the volunteer fire department, if anything catches fire, just let it burn. 1, you will not have enough water to put it out, 1.5 and that won't work anyway. 2 the run off will be worse than the fire.
 
Worldwide production of lithium will support the manufacturing of roughly 1.58 million Tesla model S batteries, presuming ALL lithium goes to that and NOTHING else.

Peak passenger car production was 72.8 million Worldwide.

Do the math; that leaves a shortfall of 71.22 million vehicles a year if fossil-fueled vehicles are banned.

So... my question to you all... what are the bulk of us going to do for transportation?

They’ll have a seaweed option, I’m sure that’ll get you past your objections.
 
Aluminum ion batteries for the rich, and aluminum air batteries (not rechargeable until it is first recycled) for the serfs.
