I haven't wet a line in far too long. Typically I head out west of Hendersonville into Pisgah NF, towards Brevard, Rosman, Waynesville...

Next week I have a vacation house rented on the north end of Lake Lure and want to take my brother (from Michigan) out to fish. Somebody hook me up with the honey holes in this AO.

- 3wt/4wt fly casting
- Wet wading. But if you want to offer to haul us around in your drift boat, I'll buy gas and cookies.
- picturesque....big rocky fast moving water preferred
- native trout > bass
- my bro isn't gonna hike 2 miles in
- reasonable chance of landing fish

GO!

If you're a guide or want to play one, let me know.

My daughter and son in law have an all day trip scheduled with Southern Appalachian Anglers Guide Service next month with the guide Ethan. They searched quite a bit and settled on this one. Don't know anything else about them, other than having 5 star reviews.

Curtis used to be a good creek to fish but it gets poached out pretty qu. If you go on up the road, you’re run into. Cranberry Creek and its wild water or used to be. You can head up to Spruce Pine and fish the Toe River, it DH as well. The Linville River is up the mountain from there a bit as well as the wild water of Steele Creek, and Upper Creek off HWY 181.

His Airbnb Wi-Fi is blocking the forum 😂

Or if you have the time and want to spend a few bucks, get a guide and fish either the Watuaga or the South Holsten in Tennessee. Both are fabulous water but you need a guide with a boat.

well…ya gonna pass on the details or what?

Red line is the creek.
The game warden likes that area so be sure to have credentials. That same entrance is game land with lots of turkey.

That’s Curtis Creek upstream about where Cranberry Creek comes into it.

A buddy of mine and I rode up to the South Holden and the Watauga Rivers over in Tennessee today and the fish was popping hard! Should have taken our fly rods! We were just looking to see what was happening up there. The fish are hungry! Brian couldn’t fish yet as he’s just had knee re surgery and can’t get into the slippery rivers yet. But the fish are there!
