So, I bought a Tsunami #9 fly rod last saturday thinking I might flip it, but then again, If I could get a decent reel for not a crapton of $, I may try to figure out how to use it. I'm thinking a c-note or so budget wise. Any suggestions?

What are you using it for? For some fishing it's just a line holder and the line is more important than the reel. Trout fishing and small ponds are like that. Others they are both important and you want the best drag on the reel you can get. Carp, stripers, saltwater.

Clearwater is a good choice. I have 2 Okuma reels that work well. Hook and Hackle has a store brand line that is pretty good and usually a reasonable price.

And nothing about fly fishing is really cheap.

Yeah, I don't think I'm old enough yet to fly fish. Kinda like golf... I don't get it, but I might when I get older.

So, who needs a 9' #9 Tsunami fly rod? Great condition.

The line will last you a good while. A reel for $60 ain't bad. Flies aren't expensive. But if you really want to let it go....
Where are you located?

I've never heard of a tsunami rod.

I'm in Midway, near Lexington. They are pretty well known in the saltwater arena. I've got a couple of their casting rods and they are solid.

I was in an Orvis fly shop once looking at a new rod. A guy came in and asked where the “fishin poles” where? The man running the place told him they didn’t have any fishing poles, that they only sold fishing rods. The first guy asked what the difference was, the owner looked at him and said” About $500!” True story!
